Grateful to see my photo series “Homes of Haor” featured in The Daily Star, after winning 1st place in the Architecture & Design category (Professional Competition) at the Sony World Photography Awards.

The article also highlights another talented Bangladeshi photographer among this year’s winners, making the recognition even more meaningful for the country’s photographic community.

Through this feature, the story of the Haor region — its water-bound homes, resilience, and way of life — reaches a broader audience. It’s an honour to have this work shared by one of Bangladesh’s leading English-language newspapers.

BIG NEWS!!!

Won 1st place in the Architecture & Design category (Professional Competition) at the 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 — one of the world’s most prestigious photography contests.

By the immense grace of God, I have achieved this honor at the Sony World Photography Awards. My photo story “Homes of Haor” has been selected as the winner among approximately 430,000 submissions from around the world in this internationally renowned and globally celebrated competition.

The award was officially announced yesterday in London. Although I was invited as a guest to attend the ceremony, unfortunately, I couldn’t make it due to some unforseen circumstances.

As part of this recognition, Sony will award me an Alpha 7 V camera, a 24–70mm f/2.8 GM II lens, along with several other prizes. Additionally, my work will be exhibited at Somerset House in London from April 17 to May 4.

This achievement is not mine alone — it belongs to my stories, my people, my land, my Bangladesh.

Grateful to the Almighty. My deepest respect and love to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.
