A year ago, GHONOGHATA left a lasting impression on me, and this year, Ghonoghota Part II was even more memorable.

Held under the beautiful Bokultola at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, the monsoon atmosphere perfectly complemented the performances. Blending Rabindra Sangeet, Bengali folk traditions, and classical dance, Arthy Ahmed Dance Academy created an evening filled with colour, rhythm, and emotion.

Behind my camera, I wasn't just capturing dance—I was preserving moments of passion, dedication, and genuine joy. Every performer brought heartfelt energy to the stage, making the experience truly special.

Congratulations to everyone at Arthy Ahmed Dance Academy for presenting such a beautiful production. Thank you for another unforgettable evening celebrating art, culture, and the spirit of the monsoon. 🌧️✨

পহেলা বৈশাখ শুধু একটি উৎসব নয়, বরং বাংলার ইতিহাস, অর্থনীতি ও সংস্কৃতির গভীরে প্রোথিত এক ঐতিহ্যের নাম।
এর সূচনা মুঘল সম্রাট Akbar-এর আমলে। কৃষিভিত্তিক অর্থনীতিকে সহজ করতে তিনি হিজরি চান্দ্র বর্ষপঞ্জির পরিবর্তে সূর্যভিত্তিক নতুন পঞ্জিকা চালু করেন, যা পরবর্তীতে “বাংলা সন” নামে পরিচিত হয়। মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল কৃষকদের ফসল তোলার সময় অনুযায়ী খাজনা আদায় সহজ করা।
সেই সময় থেকেই নববর্ষের প্রথম দিনটি হয়ে ওঠে হিসাব-নিকাশের নতুন সূচনা। ব্যবসায়ীরা “হালখাতা” খুলে পুরোনো দেনা-পাওনা মিটিয়ে নতুন খাতা শুরু করতেন। ধীরে ধীরে এই অর্থনৈতিক প্রথাই রূপ নেয় সামাজিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক উৎসবে।
সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পহেলা বৈশাখ শুধুমাত্র খাজনা বা ব্যবসার মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ থাকেনি। এটি হয়ে উঠেছে বাঙালির অসাম্প্রদায়িক চেতনার প্রতীক। বিশেষ করে University of Dhaka-এর Faculty of Fine Arts থেকে শুরু হওয়া মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রা আজ বিশ্বব্যাপী স্বীকৃত, যা বাঙালির ঐক্য, প্রতিবাদ ও সংস্কৃতির বহিঃপ্রকাশ।
এই উৎসব আমাদের শিকড়ের কথা মনে করিয়ে দেয়—কিভাবে অর্থনীতি থেকে শুরু হয়ে একদিন তা হয়ে উঠেছে জাতির আত্মপরিচয়ের অন্যতম শক্তিশালী।
