PHILIPPINE EAGLE FOUND DEAD IN SARANGANI 🦅

A critically-endangered Philippine eagle was found dead along the shoreline of Purok Maguid, Barangay Daliao in Maasim town, Sarangani on Monday morning, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Soccsksargen reported on Monday.

In their Facebook post, the agency said that a government employee found the eagle believed to be dead around four to five hours, with the cause of death to be determined.

“No tag or chips were noticed in the raptor upon the inspection. It weighed 5.6 kilograms, has a 102-centimeter length and 188 cm wingspan,” DENR wrote.

The agency added that the carcass will be sent to the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City for necropsy. (Facebook/DENR Soccsksargen)
