Pregnancy headaches happen—but not all headaches are just stress or lack of sleep. Knowing the difference can protect both you and your baby. 🩺🤰
Everyday / Common Headaches:
Mild tension from hormone shifts
Needing water, a snack, or a nap
General fatigue and daily stress
Red Flags You Must NEVER Ignore:
A severe, throbbing headache that won’t go away (even after resting)
Changes in your vision (spots, flashing lights, or blurriness)
Sudden swelling in your face, fingers, or hands
Pain in your upper right abdomen (just below your ribs)
Sudden nausea, vomiting, or feeling unusually ill
These symptoms can be warning signs of preeclampsia or elevated blood pressure, which can restrict vital blood flow to your baby. If something feels off, never wait—call your OB-GYN, midwife, or head straight to Labor & Delivery triage.
