The Mughlai Delicacy..
The word Biriyani is derived from the Persian word Birian, which means ‘fried before cooking’ and Birinj, the Persian word for rice. Many historians believe biriyani originated from Persia and was brought to India by the Mughals.
Whats different with this biriyani? Nothing much. Just that I cooked it myself. Looks yum no?..

Rowing Beneath the Dusk..
This is an old one. Captured back in 2012. I had a 50mm screwd over a Canon EOS 550D, amidts breeze and dusk the boatman took us for a joyride.

Aren’t we all just travelling between places, until the day is done?..

Startled Eyes..
I was at Dholaikhal, the place where old motor engines, reconditioned parts of vehicles are made, repaired and sold.

it is said if you handle a proper blue print of a helicopter to the workers here, they have the capability to make you one anyway. In this shop, they were making crates, tiles, some short of wheels, propellers etc. The skylight amazed me. And the natural gradient of lights. Can you see it?

Mid-day Break..
Ramadan Karim is here, the month of devotion, restraint and self cleansing, Through month long fasting and praying to the Almighty.
This is Baitul Mukarram, the National Mosque of Bangladesh. People of different classes come here to say the prayers. The scorching sun shines bright outside, a 15 hour fast drains all the energy from you. After the "Zohr" prayer the shade from the mosque is giving some of the rickshaw pullers, hawkers a relief, as a "Muazzin" (Muslim Cleric) passes by. Because God's place shelters everyone, right?

Beat the Heat!..
This photo is kinda old. We went for a photo-walk in Munshiganj 4 years back, to take some photos of Idrakpur Fort, a place with historical background. However, I thought why not explore the outside also! There were some kids were playing nearby. It was May and if you have any idea about he weather in Bangladesh, I don't have to tell you that it was freaking 40℃.

The kids were trying to beat the heat jumping into the nearby pond, swimming, bantering, engulfing and what not. I had to refrain myself from jumping in with them, but I really wished I could. I love how simple life can be in certain time and place...

Leap of Life..
A mundane afternoon may slow you and me down, but not this kid. A simple t-shirt bouncing trick can cheer him up real quick, unlike us. Isn’t it amazing how little it takes to amaze oneself? God I wish to be a kid so bad! The one thing you really need is the peace of mind...

Roasted, Ready!..
Although corn isn't a staple food here in Bangladesh, it's still widely consumed all over the country, specially during the winter as a street food. Roasting corn on the cob in coal fire is the most common way to consume. Local small business owners sell roasted corns around in carts or vans. Peak season is almost over, grab a few if you want still!
