In January, I had the opportunity to work on a fantastic project for , a London-based climate NGO, in collaboration with 3C ( Conservation, Community and Changement) , a local NGO.

NOOR Foundation presents works by Justin Makangara (), Massow Ka () and Fabrice Mbonankira () from the 'Advanced Visual Storytelling' programme in Côte d’Ivoire at the Chocolonely Foundation presentation during Chocoa Fair (Amsterdam Cocoa Week).

Realised in 2023 with the support of the Chocolonely Foundation, the programme brought together ten photographers from West Africa, who documented the cocoa-growing communities in Amanikro. Last year, the works from the programme travelled through rural Côte d’Ivoire in collaboration with as part of the exhibition 'Celebrating Communities', allowing them to be shared directly with the communities they document and creating meaningful engagement and dialogue.

The works on display at Chocoa Fair (.nl) represent a small part of the larger exhibition, offering an intimate glimpse into life in cocoa-growing communities. It was especially important to share these stories with the people shaping the cocoa industry. Thanks to the Chocolonely Foundation () for their support.

Traveling exhibitions || Community in the spotlight
Chapter III : Kinama District

Since I was little, there was a kind of culture in my community. When we entered a house, under the coffee table in the living room, there was always a photo album that we gave to a guest while waiting for someone to serve him something to drink. But with the advent of digital technology and the internet, everything seems to be disappearing little by little. With these traveling exhibitions, I find my memory again, I try to remind my community of true respect for others because it is part of our humanity.

See you in the next chapter.

|| Exhibitions || Community in the spotlight.

Chapter 2: Buyenzi.

The reality of life makes people see the physical reality and not the value of the inner person that we are.

"Sleeping Queens" illustrate this reality well, brave women who live thanks to what they collect in the dump but who are heroines in the eyes of their (children, families).

They are queens like all women in my eyes but who are asleep, given their reality.

But they only ask to be awakened in order to shine brightly.

Last night, April 25, 2025, I had the chance to attend a new competition in my city, the "Bras de Fer", which was apparently in its 4th edition.

It was a magnificent experience, full of suspense and emotions.
First and second place were won by two young men (Aaron and Kevin) who are not even bodybuilders; a nice surprise.

Basically, this competition aims to support young men who go to gyms in Burundi so that they can find a rewarding income. The candidates, for the most part, come from disadvantaged neighborhoods.

For them, the competition, in addition to the in-kind prizes that will really help them, is an opportunity to showcase their talent and physique in order to find potential employment and even evolve in this discipline as a professional.

The competition took place in one of the studios of one of the country's most popular online media outlets, which has also been organizing the competition since its inception, through its show , with , one of the country's banks, as a sponsor.

The competition was broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube. Fan clubs gathered at one of the bars in Bujumbura's to support their champion.

Recently, I had the chance to work on a wonderful project from the NGO which is a development organization based in Belgium. This project is a collaboration with Burundian civil society organizations and health insurance federations.

It was a real pleasure to witness the impact of this project on the daily lives of the beneficiaries.
