Somewhere around 2010 I met this really rad girl named Kacie. We worked together in a small store and after I left to ramp my business up full time we lost touch. Until last year when Kacie reached out because she’d met the love of her life and wanted me to capture their day.

And so, last weekend, I got to witness the best brides surrounded by the best people celebrate love. I cried during their vows and again during Kacie’s speech, and I’m crying a bit now as I pick through their previews.

Anna and Ryan had the sweetest wedding at last weekend and as I dig through the photos of the day it’s their goofiness and the twinkle in their eyes as they looked at each other all day that keeps making me tear up. Maybe it’s that I’ve been reflecting on how fun my own wedding was last year, but the feelings are really feeling as I edit this one!

Absolutely OBSESSED with Annie and Travis’ wedding portrait session at Porteau Cove a couple of weeks ago.

These two aren’t having their “actual” wedding until later this year, but they loved my idea of doing portraits on a different day (like I did for my own wedding) so much that they flew up from LA for the most gorgeous sunset session.

If you’re stressed about being rushed (or shy) on your wedding day, or even if you just don’t want to miss the party, consider doing your portraits on a different day! It’s so much more relaxed, you get to pick the location and time of day, and it’s still incredibly special!
