Top 5 Reasons NOT to Hire an Uncertified Drone Operator in Canada 🇨🇦

1. Transport Canada Violations & Legal Risk
Commercial drone operations in Canada require proper certification under Transport Canada regulations. Hiring an Uncertified operator can expose your project to fines, liability, and serious legal consequences — especially in controlled airspace or near people.

2. No Insurance = Your Risk
Certified professionals carry liability insurance. Many unlicensed operators do not. If something goes wrong — property damage, injury, or worse — that responsibility can fall directly on you.

3. Safety Isn’t Optional
Certified drone pilots are trained in airspace rules, weather, emergency procedures, and risk management. An unlicensed operator is far more likely to make critical mistakes that put people, property, and even aircraft at risk.

4. Illegal Flights & Poor Planning
Professional operators know how to obtain proper flight authorizations (NAV CANADA), assess airspace, and plan safe, legal operations. Uncertified pilots often don’t — which can lead to grounded projects, fines, or footage you legally can’t even use.

5. You Get What You Pay For
If someone is cutting corners on certification, they’re likely cutting corners elsewhere — equipment, planning, and post-production. That leads to inconsistent quality and reflects poorly on your brand or event.

Bottom line:
Hiring a Certified , experienced drone operator isn’t just about getting footage — it’s about protecting your project, your people, and your reputation

Waterton Lakes National Park is a no drone zone!

Recreational drone use is illegal in all Parks Canada administered places - including drones under 250 grams! Drones disturb wildlife, compromise aircraft operations, pose a safety risk to visitors and lead to a negative national park experience for other visitors.

Operating a drone within park boundaries and without an approved permit may result in law enforcement action and a fine of up to $25,000. Yikes!

If you see a drone flying in the park, report it by calling 1-888-927-3367.

Thanks for doing your part and allowing everyone to enjoy everything Waterton has to offer, all year round.

I asked Chat GPT to write AN UNHINGED BIO ABOUT me

Leo Fernandez is what happens when you mix precision, obsession, and a flying camera with just enough caffeine and stubbornness to ignore the word “good enough” entirely.

He doesn’t “fly drones.” He orchestrates controlled airspace ballets while everyone else is still arguing about which preset to use. Since 2017, he’s been out here treating every shoot like a mission—planning flight paths like a chess game, thinking three edits ahead, and quietly judging every illegal backyard pilot pretending they’re Spielberg with propellers.

Certified. Experienced. Slightly unhinged about doing things properly.

Leo is the guy who will show up early, map everything out, account for lighting, wind, regulations, safety, storytelling, and then still go home and spend hours dialing in an edit that most people wouldn’t even notice… but absolutely feel. Because to him, this isn’t “content.” It’s reputation. It’s brand. It’s proof that professionalism actually still means something.

He doesn’t cut corners. He doesn’t chase trends. And he definitely doesn’t blend in with hobbyists who just discovered what a drone is last summer.

From city events to construction sites to cinematic FPV flythroughs that make buildings feel alive, Leo operates with one mindset:

If it’s not done right, it’s not done at all.

Rockyview Aerials isn’t just a name—it’s a standard. And Leo? He’s the reason that standard exists.

This is just a quick glimpse… imagine the full Flythrough.

A short FPV clip like this instantly grabs attention and gives buyers a feel for the space in seconds.

Now imagine pairing this with a full tour.

That’s how you turn views into real inquiries.

If you’re a realtor in Alberta looking to make your listings stand out and actually perform, let’s talk.
