Just one small section of the notecards on display at TownsEnd Studio.

This weekend, June 20-21, marks the opening weekend of the Fundy Studio Tour summer season. All of the Studio Tour artists and artisans will have their shops open this weekend ready for your visit.

The Fundy Studio Tour route goes from Riverview to Alma mostly following route 114, but also includes the Albert Mines Road and route 915.

You can get a Studio Tour map at any of our studios as well as some restaurants and the Old Church Market in Hillsborough.

The first stop at the Riverview end is Glass Roots, 406 Coverdale Road. The first place at the Alma end is Holy Whale Brewing Company - Buddha Bear Coffee Roasters, 8576 Main Street.

We all have COVID-19 precautions in effect.
Remember the drill, I protect you, you protect me.

My studio is limited to 2 visitors at a time.
Although I am open most days in summer it is best to call ahead to make an appointment to be sure your visit won’t overlap with others.

Right now Interrupted Ferns are very easy to spot. The “interrupted” section of darker fertile leaflets stands out clearly against the lighter shade of the rest of the leaflets. As the fern grows bigger this contrast becomes less distinct.

Sweetgrass in Flower.
Sweetgrass is now in flower and I find that seeing the flowering stalks is the easiest ways to see where it is growing in my yard so I can avoid moving there.

This is the most delightful and encouraging time of year to walk about in nature and see the energy of new life emerging. The spring greens are beautiful and I appreciate every leaf and every new blade of grass with a sense of wonder.

Barred Owl.
Looking through the images I made of this owl made me wish I had shot video instead. The owl looked all around several times before swooping down to grab a mouse and disappear back into the woods.
I’ve been looking through some of the thousands of photos I’ve never had time to finish.
