Making deals with the seals… These guys are always so relaxed, just looking for the best spots to snooze - rocks on low tide seem to be a favourite. Which makes it quite easy to take photos and hang out with for some time.

Torrential Tofino… Spent a week on Vancouver Island, only to be met with a constant downpour of rain. Finally getting a break in the weather for just a few hours on the last day to pop the drone in the air and get a shot in - even greeted to a sunset on the drive back to the airport. Was thinking the island was overrated the entire time, until the drive back, actually being able to see mountain scapes and sun kissed tree tops. Now I have to go back!

The quick and the fed… Sinking more time into my age appropriate hobby, having a difficult time deciding which little birds are actually cuter; the chickadee or nuthatch. These little guys are so fast when it comes to snagging food during the winter months that they can be nearly impossible to shoot reliably. Luckily, I had the new a7v to test out with the 30fps and pre-capture features, and honestly it’s difficult shooting action shots with anything else. The ability to get in-motion photos after a subject has already moved is incredibly useful, no longer having to just predict behaviours and fire off the shutter aimlessly.

I’ve been using lenses since I bought my very first DSLR camera nearly 10 years ago when starting out on my photographic journey. They’ve helped me capture so many of my favourite photos since the early days and I couldn’t be happier with the quality produced by each lens I’ve used. Here’s a selection of some of my favourite landscape images taken with a Tamron lens.

At first sight… This was the scene I was greeted to upon landing in Iceland on my first day. Soaked in this stunning sunset all to myself and relaxed as the weather changed from cloudy, to sunny, to starry skies.
