🚗 New Zealand road trip DAY 2 🇳🇿

On day two of the trip, we arrived at Lake Matheson.
It’s famous for reflecting Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman on its surface.

But that day, the sky was completely overcast—
no reflections, no perfect view.

Instead, we found something unexpected.

Just a few steps from the parking lot,
a mischievous Kea appeared.

Fearless, yet curious—
it seemed more interested in my camera than anything else.

As it got closer,
I couldn’t help but capture the moment.

Sometimes, the best part of a journey
isn’t what you planned to see.

我們來到了 Lake Matheson。

這裡以湖面倒映庫克山與塔斯曼山而聞名，
但那天，天空被厚厚的雲層覆蓋，
沒能看見那片經典的鏡面湖景。

不過，也正是在這樣的天氣裡——
我們遇見了另一種驚喜。

就在停車場旁不遠處，
一隻調皮的高山鸚鵡 Kea 出現在我們眼前。

牠們不怕人，卻也保持著一點距離。
但有趣的是，牠似乎對我的相機產生了興趣。

當牠一步步靠近時，
我也忍不住按下快門，記錄下這個瞬間。

看著牠們這樣好奇又頑皮的模樣，
真的很難不讓人喜歡上牠們。

I’ve been living in Banff for three years now, and for just as long, I’ve been looking up at this iconic mountain standing tall above the town’s main street. Yet somehow, I never found the right moment to climb it.

As summer started slipping away, I thought — if I don’t do something soon, the summer of 2025 might just pass me by without meaning.

One day, my friend Mark asked, “Have you ever hiked Cascade?”
I laughed and said, “Not yet. I’ve always wanted to, but never really had the chance.”

So we decided to finally make it happen.

Our hike began at 3 a.m., walking in complete darkness with only our headlamps lighting the way. Around 5 or 6 a.m., the sky began to lighten, revealing the mountains and the mist around us. By a little after 7, we finally reached the summit of Cascade Mountain — and checked off a goal that had been sitting in my heart for years.

A quiet moment in Larch Valley, just beside the stunning Moraine Lake.

I took these photos a few days ago during a short afternoon walk, the kind of walk that makes you forget time.

The mountains, the golden trees, and the stillness of the air… sometimes that’s all you need to feel alive. 🍁

After more than five months of a busy summer, autumn has quietly arrived.
On this day, my friend and I revisited Larch Valley, a place we hadn’t been to in a long time. Each visit shows a different face of its beauty—lush greenery in summer, and now in autumn, a breathtaking sea of golden-orange larches covering the mountains. Immersed in this scenery, it also gently reminds us that winter is not far away.

【Peak District, UK｜Hiking the Derwent Edge Trail】

The Peak District is one of my all-time favorite places in the UK—full of stunning landscapes and iconic hiking trails. Among them, Derwent Edge stands out as one of the most unforgettable.

The name “Derwent” comes from ancient Brittonic, meaning “river of oak trees.” It’s a poetic name for a trail that winds along the dramatic edges of the moor, where the earth seems to whisper stories of the past.

Starting from Manchester Piccadilly Station, I took a train to Hope Station (around 40 mins), then set “Derwent Edge” as my destination on Google Maps and began a full-day hike.

Depending on your pace, the trail takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete. Along the way, the view over Ladybower Reservoir is breathtaking—especially when seen from the higher points, where water and hills blend into a perfect harmony.

Near the end of the trail, I came across this giant rock formation called Coach and Horses (see the drone shot). It’s like nature’s own sculpture, quietly watching over the landscape.

Walking through Derwent Edge, with wind in my hair, clouds drifting above, and purple heather blooming underfoot—it felt like stepping into a dream where everything slows down and all that matters is the present moment.

If you’re a hiker, a dreamer, or just someone looking for beauty in the wild, Derwent Edge deserves a spot on your list.

🚗🏔️ The Stunning Icefields Parkway | Road Trip Adventure 🌨️❄️

Yesterday, I hit the road with my friends Karie & Peter to explore one of Canada’s 🇨🇦 most breathtaking highways—the Icefields Parkway. This road is truly a visual masterpiece! A seemingly endless stretch of highway flanked by towering Rocky Mountains, with snow-capped peaks in the distance—it felt like stepping into a cinematic scene. 🎥✨

We stopped near Abraham Lake, and the weather was surprisingly good! The crisp winter air, the blue sky, and the snow-covered landscapes made everything look even more magical. We ran, walked, and even sat down in the middle of the road, soaking in the peacefulness of the moment. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️⛰️

Traveling with good friends always makes the journey even more special. Sharing these incredible moments together made this road trip truly unforgettable! 💙

第一次來到 Moraine Lake，是2022年9月時，來到Banff準備入職在加拿大打工度假的第二份工作。原本期待天氣能更好一點，結果是個烏雲密布的午後，還好這條石階梯本身就是一道美景。

有時候旅行就是這樣，不一定是最完美的天氣，
卻也有最真實的回憶。

These Grizzly buddies (or couple) were casually dining by the Icefields Parkway, while I nervously watched from the car-making sure I wasn‘t on the dessert menu! 🫣

The other view of the 「Palacio Real de Madrid」 & 「Catedral de Santa María la Real de la Almudena」

During my Europe trip last year, I spent a total of six days in Spain. On the fourth day, I flew from Barcelona to Madrid and had a wander around the city, taking in the street scenes and architecture. However, as the weather took a turn for the worse, I had to cut my explorations short.

That said, ever since returning from this trip, I’ve come to appreciate why Spain is so enchanting. If I get the chance, I’d definitely go back to explore more of its cities.
