Happy New Year!

Truly, we are so grateful for everything this year brought us. Elope Wilder was dreamt up during many long drives together last summer and when we finally decided to go for it, it was so exciting but so so scary. Starting a new business in very competitive market was daunting but we knew that we had something incredible to offer and we couldn’t wait for this year.

When we say that the year exceeded our expectations, that doesn’t even come close to describing it. All the couples that trusted us to tell this meaningful part of their story were some of the best people we’ve ever met. We spent their elopement days sharing laughs and many many tears and our drives home were always spent gushing over our couples and the unique ways they chose to spend their day. Thank you so much to you all. Thank you for trusting us and showing up as your true selves and giving us a small glimpse into who you are. Our hearts are so full.

We hope 2026 brings everyone lots of love and joy. Happy New Year!

A magic and joyful day in the Rockies with two of the most beautiful souls.

From our first call, their love for each other was so evident and the way they chose to get married was so true to their relationship and every detail was so intentional and perfect.

We met up on the shores of a river in early afternoon where they exchanged their vows and said their I dos in the company of their closest people. Their sweet dog was the handsomest ring bearer there ever was (I have a thing for heelers, IKYKY).

We then headed up into the larches for a sunset adventure. They read words of wisdom that their guests shared with them, they read letters they wrote for one another, they played, they danced, they laughed, and just the best time was had. It’s elopements like this, so full of love and authenticity, that remind us why we do what we do.

It was such an honour to capture this part of their story 💕 thank you both for letting me be there with you.

This was a rainy intimate wedding done to perfection ✨

K & T got married in July in Kananaskis during those heaaavvyy rains. I looked it up after and that day, the area received over 40mm of rain 🌧️ 🫣

That did not deter them at all. They came prepared with umbrellas and most importantly, the absolute best attitude. They rolled with it, no stress, no backup plans… just a day that was theirs and honest and focused on connection.

We started the day with private vows and then met up with their wedding party for photos (they were all so fun!). We headed back to Kananaskis Lodge for a little warm up and chill time before they had their ceremony. The rain hadn’t let up at all but everyone showed up for them with nothing but smiles and love. It was such an honour to see and be a part of.

Everyone always asks us on consult calls “but what if it rains?” and from now on, we might just send them this post to show them that at the end of the day, the weather just is what it is, and all that matters is that you show up and just love the heck out of whatever happens.. you’re getting to marry your best friend and that’s all that truly matters.

A September sunset helicopter elopement for the books 🚁

B & D’s elopement in Banff was the kind of day that reminded us why these moments matter so much.
They chose to exchange vows along the river, water rushing past, the mountains standing tall around us. The water was high so we had to meander across… they didn’t even hesitate, and to us, that says everything about who they are: brave, grounded, and willing to take on anything side by side.

Afterwards, we stopped at one of our favourite lakes we were so excited to share with them, they ran through a field, explored near the water, soaking in the day and exclaiming that it was just surreal that the water really is ✨that blue✨.

By evening, we arrived at the heli base. They put their complete trust in us on where to land and we knew just the spot for them. Up at the summit, we frolicked, snaps pics on their disposable camera, they spread out a blanket and dug into some cake, read letters from family, and sat together as the sun dipped behind the glaciers.

It was unhurried, intentional, and real. There was so much laughter, so much play, and at the same time a stillness that only comes when people are exactly where they’re meant to be.

Getting to know these two and being trusted to witness this day was an honour that we will carry with us for a long time. Thank you, you two ❤️🥹

A backcountry elopement like no other at Shadow Lake Lodge ✨

An easy 14km hike into the Banff backcountry brings you to what might be our new fave place for couples to elope. Seriously, just look at all those photos 🥰🙌🏻

At Shadow Lake Lodge, you’ll find:
    •    Cozy private cabins (with solar power) tucked into the forest
    •    A full communal kitchen (fridge included!) to whip up your favourite meals
    •    Hot showers + a small general store for the essentials
    •    Endless trails leading to insane views

It’s backcountry, but with just enough luxury to make it incredibly special. We’ll spend a few days exploring, chasing golden light, and finding the perfect place for you to exchange your vows.

For couples who value nature, adventure, and doing things their own way (while not completely roughing it), this is your place.

Shadow Lake Lodge is now booking for 2026 and we’d love to chat about your backcountry elopement there!

A wedding day built around adventure, love, and the best chocolate zucchini bread ever (we might be obsessed, ).

Mount Assiniboine has this quiet, wild magic that makes time slow down — it’s just you, your person, and the mountains.

Our day kicked off with a helicopter flight over alpine lakes and towering peaks. Once we landed, we hiked out to find our campsite, brewed some coffee and made lunch. After a brief rain shower, we hiked up the peak right behind our campsite to capture their personal vows to each other. The hike up to the top was breathtaking — but a little bit of a mosquito party at times. The weather also couldn’t make up its mind (sunshine, rain, thunderstorms, repeat). Classic mountain weather. 😂 But bugs and wild weather aside, it was pure magic.

We laughed a lot, shared summit snacks, played Skip-Bo, dipped our toes in alpine lakes, chased the sunset, danced in the rain, and soaked in the kind of joy you can’t script. It was such a beautiful reminder that your elopement should be yours. Dream up a day you want and let it unfold in a way that feels real. That’s where the magic is.

We seriously can’t thank E + P for having us capture their story — we had the absolute best time with them! Congratulations you two. 🤍

Mount Assiniboine, you’ve got our hearts. We can’t wait to come back.

A sweet June Kananaskis elopement complete with a beautiful ceremony, tearful vows, the cutest little dogs, a grizzly bear, some special bourbon, and ohhhh sooo much moody weather 😍 swipe to the end to see the absolute storm that descended on us as we wrapped up 😅

Allison and I (Dom) have known each other for a long time, we did our bachelors at the University of Alberta together and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her and Shane’s elopement. They wanted a day that was relaxed and represented them. They wanted their dogs there and to just be able to focus on each other. It was a beautiful day and the weather held out just long enough. They celebrated with friends and family a couple days later (more photos of that to come).

Thank you for having me there you two, and thank you for embracing the weather and having fun with it. ❤️

When these two first reached out, they imagined a day that was beautiful, intimate, and playful. They had fallen in love with the Rocky Mountains and were open to locations. During the process, we tossed around a ton of places, like Nordegg, Kananaskis, Fernie, Waterton and they ultimately landed on Panorama… a spot that had a special place in their hearts.

Their day was full of intentional details, custom cookies with their cat’s face, flowers they drove all the way out here from Saskatoon, a stunning custom crib board, and the most beautiful vows.

We built them a timeline that allowed a lot of space to just be present, to stop mid-day for drinks at the golf course, to play the inaugural game on that gorgeous crib board, to wait to do their vows together until we found the perfect place, to go for a canoe just as the sun was setting, and it was honestly the perfect day. These two had so much fun. The laughs never stopped and we are still just over the moon that we got to be there with them and capture these memories.

Congrats again K & S, we can’t wait for our next adventure with you.

“We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout…” 🎶

They skipped along the water, dancing like teenagers totally head over heels and having the time of their lives. That turquoise water, surrounded by those towering iconic mountain peaks, made everything feel a little more magical. They kept it simple—just the two of them, no strict timelines, no stress—just genuine laughs and playful moments. Like two best friends on a spontaneous adventure, they were teasing and joking the whole time. 💛

After their ceremony, we wandered along the shoreline, explored a few trails, belted out some Johnny Cash, and just soaked in the views.

K + D, you brought the fire, the fun, and all the heart. We feel so lucky to have been part of your unforgettable day. 🥹
