When Thomas worked for Spotlight Productions in Calgary as a Director of Photography, documentary storytelling for Telus was his main gig. The show was called myEdmonton and the format was telling short 5min stories about local makers. In this segment, Jack has been making custom archery bows for decades from his home workshop. His labours of love have made this soft-spoken artisan famous across North America.

As a former short track speedskater in his youth and a member of Team Ontario, Thomas always wanted to shoot a documentary on the sport and tell the story of one of its trailblazers. In 2018, he received the opportunity to film with Shruti Kotwal from Pune, India and tell her speed skating story while she was training at the Olympic Oval Calgary. Shruti is still pursuing her dream to this day of being India's first Olympic speedskater. She is currently training at the Utah Olympic Oval.
