Check out this INSANE FOGBOW that was viewed and photographed near Lauder, Manitoba this morning! 🌫️ 🌈

I dreamt about being in California and swimming in the Pacific Ocean and hanging out with my Dad having a drink which was all wonderful but then I woke up to these Fogbow photos and reports… and then my dreams got crushed 🤣 Instant FOMO.

--Conditions will be favorable for the development of funnel clouds today.--

Weak thundershowers have developed early this afternoon in southwest Manitoba and the Red River Valley and are expected to track southeast. They have the potential to produce brief funnel clouds. They are expected to weaken later this afternoon.

These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.

If conditions become more favorable for the development of landspout tornadoes, watches and warnings will be issued by Environment Canada.

Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage but can still be dangerous. They can be strong enough to topple trees, damage roofs or toss debris short distances.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected], call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using .

It’s been a rainy afternoon in Brandon, MB 🌧️

At least we haven’t had to deal with flooding rains over the last of couple weeks so the ground can still take it in here…

Other areas have not been as fortunate 😢

Where's Summer?? 🤔 🧐

Ever since the couple of hot days at the end of May we haven't really had much for heat across Manitoba.

The culprit is a stubborn NW Flow pattern that we are stuck in thanks to an upper level low near the Hudson Bay Coast.

After the severe thunderstorm outbreak last week due to a strong cold front passage it has really reinforced the cool air. 🥶

I don't see us breaking out of this pattern any time soon.

It's possible we get into more of a West/Southwest Flow toward the end of the month but that is not guaranteed.

Let's hope the heat cranks back up soon!
Our summers are so short as it is! 😭

WHOA!!! 🤯 😍

Chris Kiansky sent us this photo he took in Niverville, MB earlier today around 3pm of some STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL Cloud Iridescence! ⛅️ 🌈

Cloud iridescence is a rainbow-like shimmer of soft colors that appears on or near clouds when sunlight passes through very tiny water droplets or ice crystals that are all about the same size. The light bends and spreads into different colors, making parts of the cloud look colorful!

Good Morning, everyone. 👋

With the weather quieted down now I figured I could share photos I captured of this Great Horned Owl nest site back at the end of May with you all! 📸 🦉

I was very fortunate to spend a short but amazing time with these Owls before the little ones fledged and moved on to bigger adventures. ♥️

Have you ever witnessed Great Horned Owls?? 🤨

Good Afternoon, everyone. 👋

I decided to go check out a lady's slipper spot this morning in the rain and what I found surprised me!

I found not only the regular yellow lady's slippers (both small + large varieties) but I also came across a clump of possible Small White's Lady's slippers or more likely Hybrid lady's slippers (yellow + white mix) 💛 🤍

I have found small white's lady's slippers before in SE Manitoba and they were much smaller than these ones I found and photographed this morning so that alone makes me lean toward hybrid.

Either way, They are SO Beautiful!! 😍

Feel Free to Share 🙂
