Italy was a total rollercoaster, and not just because of the gelato highs. Turns out I’m allergic to whatever bugs were biting me, dealt with a moldy hotel room that was basically cosplaying as a swamp, and our luggage pulled a Houdini for a night. Oh, and my wife’s phone? Stolen by a pickpocket. Still, if you squint past the chaos, it was a legit epic adventure.
The food? Straight-up art you can eat. The architecture and art? Mind-blowing. The views? Stunning, coast to countryside, though the cities could use a cleanup crew for all the graffiti and litter.
All said and done, it was a wild ride worth taking. No regrets.
