So yeah it’s time. I’m dumping 90 percent of my social media bu****it. All I’ve ever heard was “post daily on social media and you’ll gain followers”. It’s all bu****it. Not a single photo of mine posted in the past month on my photography FB pages got more than 9 likes. My instagram follower count on 3 accounts hasn’t moved for years despite sometimes being featured on rusty car hubs etc. My main photo instagram account has literally LOST followers. I’ve always tried to say thanks to people who leave comments etc. Most everyone that do are already my friends here so at the end of the month I’m reclaiming my time. F**k FB pages and instagram. I’ll be keeping my personal profile here and maybe my Bluesky account… for a bit anyway. None of this s**t has lead to any print sales, in fact I’ve gotten more scammers messaging me than anything else. I’m done wasting my time. I am grateful to those that engage regularly with my photos etc, I know who you are. If we’re not “friends” already just send me a request and I’ll add you so you can see when I do post new photos. I still upload new work to Flickr as a backup so you can visit me there if so inclined. Or my website since I should have more time to actually update it now. Cheers. W.
