For a photographer, a single image captures just a fraction of a second. But what happens when you observe the exact same subject, from the exact same vantage point, over a period of years?
My latest photographic essay, Oslofjorden: As Framed Through a Bedroom Window, is a diachronic study of time, light, and atmosphere. Using a long focal length to compress the 22-kilometer view of the inner fjord, I set out to document the infinite variety of the shifting Norwegian seasons—from the expansive, iridescent blue of the summer water to the slow-burning gold of the winter sky.
It has been an exercise in finding beauty in the subtle shifts and heavy grey days that a casual observer might miss. You can view the collected archive and read the full essay on Substack here: https://twillick.substack.com/p/oslofjorden
