Hello! I’m Chloe.

I am a Calgary-based photographer, woman in corporate finance, mom, volunteer photography coordinator , and someone who truly understands what it feels like to move through different versions of yourself. Whether you’re celebrating a new chapter or just want to capture this exact moment in time, I’m here for it!

I recently wrapped up a three-part series celebrating womanhood in our YYC community and it completely shifted my perspective. I love helping tell people’s stories while capturing them authentically and beautifully; consider me your ultimate hype woman behind the lens. I view photography as an investment and know stepping in front of a camera can feel vulnerable, so my approach is entirely focused on making sure you feel relaxed, comfortable, and yourself while we curate photos you’ll look back on forever. If nothing else, I promise I’ll at least make you laugh.

Send a DM to .co to chat about a session. I can’t wait to meet you!

𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝗹. 𝟱: 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿

This is the final volume of Narrative, and the finale to my three-part series.

These photo sessions asked more of me than I expected, and I gave it anyway. I gave my time, my creativity, and my emotional capacity. I pushed the edges of my comfort zone and held these stories with care. This project changed me not only as a photographer but also as a woman, and I am deeply thankful for every moment of effort it required and for what a beautiful thing it become.

One of the many unexpected gifts of this series was connection. Taylor came into this volume as a subject and left as a friend, and I am so grateful our paths crossed. She has a heart as beautiful as she is, and is a testament of stepping into womanhood with nothing but grace.

To every woman who showed up vulnerably, shared her story, and stood in front of my lens, thank you. To everyone who supported this work, quietly or loudly, from the beginning or somewhere along the way, I feel nothing but gratitude and humility for the trust I was given to tell these stories.

Thank so much you for being here.

Taylor’s words are below ↓

“This chapter of my life would be called ‘Becoming the Woman I Always Hoped I’d Be’. It feels like arrival. I’m a mama, a wife, and a woman building a life that finally reflects who I am. My hands are full, my heart is fuller, and every day I feel myself growing into the version of me I used to dream about. This is the season where everything begins to align, softly, intentionally, and beautifully.”

Narrative was always meant to hold women at every stage of life. Shannon’s volume reflects what it looks like to step into yourself after years of showing up for everyone else.

Shannon’s story is below ↓

“If my life as a woman were a book this chapter would be called ‘Her Main Character Moment’.

I have loved my supporting roles. Student. Athlete. Teacher. Coach. Colleague. Mama. Manager of a household. Manager of young athletes. Manager of a child with a chronic illness. Advocate. Caregiver. Wife.

At 52, Shannon is taking the stage. More of my time is my own and I relish deciding how to spend that currency.

I’ve invented something from nothing, built on my true interests and passions. Clothing. Style. Social justice. Local activism. Emotional connection with real people. It started as outfits on Instagram and has become the definition of how I move through the world.

Get up. Dress up. Show up. I pursued whatever brought me joy. I shopped and styled and thrifted and learned about photography and content creation and copywriting and connection and collaboration. I did cringey things before I had the skills. I asked to get paid and got turned down. I traded my work for clothes and clout and services and tickets and more clothes and experiences.

I got creative with my energy exchanges and paid it forward.

I’ve been uncomfortable in new spaces. I’ve felt awkward. I’ve agreed to coffee dates with strangers because they interested me and the vibes were good; they turned into close connections. I’m proud of how unapologetically I’ve claimed this role and that I’ve brought others along with me. This main character will say your name in rooms you aren’t in.

If I die tomorrow I will smile and whisper; that was so much fu***ng fun.“

Kristina’s story centers on acceptance. Her narrative reflects a turning point: learning to release responsibility for other people’s perceptions and returning to herself with honesty.

She brings depth, self-awareness, and lived experience into everything she does, both personally and professionally. She is also one of the coolest people I know and I am so stoked to feature her for Vol. 2.

Below is Kristina’s reflection ↓

“If my life as a woman was a book, this chapter is definitely called ‘Acceptance’.

A lot of the really tough times and suffering in my life were due to an inability to accept what I can’t control. I couldn’t accept disapproval, judgment, belittlement, and I would alter my behaviour in an attempt to protect myself and to get that validation I felt like I needed. This led me to a lot of darkness and a lot of ‘I’ll never be good enough’ type beliefs.

Addiction taught me a lot. As horrible as it was, I see why it needed to happen. It was humbling, eye-opening, very scary at times, and changed the course of my life for the better. It taught me to accept the things that, sure, I wasn’t stoked on or necessarily happy about. But when I finally accepted, I felt calm. Like this weight of perceived responsibility lifted off me and I could just be. It also brought me back to music and actually experiencing it again. That’s been a huge gift.

Today, I feel free and confident to be myself, even in the face of judgment from others. I accept that others’ perceptions are not mine to hold and not mine to control. I accept that I can’t change what happened or the mistakes I’ve made in the past, but I can certainly learn from them and use them to move forward. As hard as some of it was, I’m grateful for all of it.”

Today is a beautiful day. Loves of Our Lives is officially out in the world.

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting or hearing her read her work, you know that she loves love in a way that is unmistakable and she shares it freely. I had the privilege of featuring her as the face of Narrative Vol. 1, and within those two hours she showed me something rare. She has a way of reminding the people around her what love can feel like in all its forms.

This collection of poems is that feeling. Her words move through the kinds of love that shape us, break us open, steady us, and make us who we are. These poems have a tenderness that feels lived in, and are a way of naming feelings you thought only existed in your chest.

I am so inspired by her and so excited for everyone who gets to hold this book and find themselves somewhere inside it.

Celebrating you today, Josie. Your words are a gift to us all.

It feels fitting to close Folio with Julia Chesal, owner of The Study Studios. She is a mother, a creative force, and a woman who has shaped Calgary’s creative community with intention and a stunning, versatile studio space. Her studios were the first spaces I ever shot in, and they set the stage for how I see beauty and storytelling. Each setup she creates showcases her eye for detail and her profound sense of pride in its elements.

Julia herself is just as grounding. Thoughtful, warm, and deeply intuitive, she has built more than a studio. She has created a space where people feel welcome to show up and celebrate everything that matters. Her influence has given so many of us a place to create, grow, and be a part of something truly so, so beautiful.

This is how womanhood shows up for her, both as a business owner and in her studio ↓

“Womanhood shows up in so many ways in my business, some predictable and others surprising. I find the creative world is an easy space as a woman, it’s the business side that pushes me out of my comfort zone. It’s truly my female intuition that guides me faithfully.

The other powerful side of being a woman is that we have a strong community, which might be the best part of entrepreneurship. Many of us are also mothers, which was my biggest push towards starting my business. The community of mothers is a fierce one that overflows onto the business side in a beautiful way.

Women at so many stages of their lives walk through my doors to capture meaningful moments: proposals, weddings, babies and, of course, launching businesses. The drive a woman can harness when all their worlds collide is magical!”

𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗩𝗼𝗹. 𝟰: 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗲𝗱𝗲

This volume features Tianna, one of my oldest friends and owner of Studio Suede located in .afterstudio in Inglewood.

We have traveled together, cried together, laughed until we almost peed our pants, and seen each other through so many seasons of life. Next year will be eleven years of friendship. From the beginning, she has been the definition of a girls’ girl to me and a huge part of how I have come to understand womanhood. Anyone who knows her knows how effortlessly cool and hilarious she is, and how naturally people feel drawn to her.

Studio Suede reflects that same vibe. Tianna blends artistry with connection and turns hairstyling into an experience that makes you feel like you have known her forever. Her chair is welcoming and familiar, the kind of place where you are greeted with a “Hi honey!” the moment you walk in and where you feel both listened to and like you’re catching up with someone you’ve known for years. I love her very much.

Below is how she sees womanhood in her craft ↓

“As a hairstylist in a female-driven industry that values artistry, community, and womanhood, I see womanhood show up in my work every day. For me, hairstyling is about more than technique and cutting someone’s hair. It is connection, empowerment, and self-expression.

Whether someone wants a bold change or something subtle, every style tells a story. Hair is personal. It can represent so many things, and I am grateful to be part of that. My hope is that Studio Suede is a place where you feel understood and supported, and where your hair reflects the confidence you carry within you.”

This next installment of Folio is a personal one. Natalie Borden, owner of Calgary Breastfeeding Centre, and her work are the definition of womanhood in practice. Breastfeeding is often framed as natural and easy, but for many new mothers it is confusing and emotional. Even more often, the struggles that come with it are hardly talked about. After the lengthy and traumatic birth of my son Levi and his initial inability to breastfeed, I felt all of that.

Natalie met me with knowledge, humor, and around-the-clock support when everything felt uncertain. She has spent the last decade supporting families as a doula, and now, as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant working toward her advanced certification, she continues to help women through one of the most vulnerable parts of postpartum.

What makes her work so important is how deeply she cares about the whole experience, not just the latch or the logistics. She understands the physical and emotional weight of those early days and shows up with compassion and a steady presence every new mother deserves. I am honored to feature her as the third volume of Folio.

See below for how womanhood shows up in her work ↓

“When this question was posed to me, I felt like my answer was essentially immediate. Womanhood shows up in my business as an existing pillar of it. At the heart of my business is the idea that it is more than just what is good for me. It means striving to have integrity and by working together with the families I support. It was never about building something large, with as many clients as possible. It has always been about quality at its core. Womanhood to me is about our community supporting one another, without ego and for the greater good.”
