Hey all!
Little update that no one asked for 🙋🏻‍♀️😃:
I finally finished my Education degree (a goal I set out to do in 2006 when I started my Kinesiology degree) and have been having a blast substitute teaching. Still enjoying homeschooling my crazy kiddos as I have been for the past 4 years. Still not sure what I’m doing… even with so-called credentials, but we’re doing great at PhysEd.

▫️New plan for 2021… Read FB messages/emails and respond to them promptly. I’ve been so hit and miss with it (mostly miss 🤦🏻‍♀️ so sorry!!) and I’ve come to this realization: If I don’t have a complete response thought through the second I read a message, then I’ll put it off until I do… which sometimes turns into an eternity. To overcome that, I’m going to be responding quickly but perhaps without complete sentences... We’ll see what happens. Sounds fool-proof.

▫️Same plan as every year: Meet and photograph as many lovely people as I can!

PHOTOSHOOT GIVEAWAY!
Fall is around the corner! Some might be saddened by that, but I’m hoping that means ✔️ cozy sweaters and ❌ more wildfire smoke.
As I’m not a regular social media user 😬🤦🏻‍♀️, I thought I’d do a giveaway as a way to thank my clients for all their support despite my lack of posting anything. I’m so thankful to continue to book shoots solely on word of mouth so here’s to all of you for making that possible!!! ❤️
I’ve done at-home-shoots for some of you, and am always so happy to see the photos I’ve taken hanging on your walls.
So here’s what I’m asking you to do: Take a picture of your family/wedding/engagement/kids photos that I’ve done that you’ve hung up and post that photo in the comments below.

Everyone who posts a photo of my work in your home will be entered to win a free 30-minute mini-session!

Contest ends in one week - September 5th at 9:00pm PST
Photoshoot to be done either in or around Calgary, AB or Vernon BC.

Happy first day of school!!
So thankful for all the wonderful families who came out for my free school photos session yesterday. Here are some of the sweet kids that made it so much fun :) Hope everyone has a great day! And here's to a year of learning, friendships, and fun!!

FREE BACK-TO-SCHOOL PHOTOS!!

My oldest is heading off to kindergarten next week and when we bought her backpack yesterday, I thought, I should really do some 'going to school' photos of her. That led me to create a little styled session and wanting to do free photos for anyone heading to school (or back to school).

Photos taking place this Monday, September 4th, from 3:30-5:30pm. The set up will be similar to what's in these photos (taken today) but feel free to bring any props you'd like!
Each child will have about 5 minutes which will result in about 5-8 photos emailed to you within 3 days of the shoot.

Come anytime between 3:30-5:30pm!
Pre-K kids are welcome! Teenagers also welcome :D

Location: Bow Valley Ranch area of Fish Creek Park. Approximate address: 15979 Bow Bottom Trail SE, Calgary.
From the parking lot next to the big red barn, look south. I'll likely have some helium balloons setup to guide parents but the location is visible from the parking lot... as that's as far as I could carry the desk with one arm... ;)

Am I still doing family photos? (as many of you have asked) Yes! Despite my extreme lack of posting, I'm still loving my photography business, and the people I get to meet through it.
Here are a few of my favourite family shots taken this year :) So looking forward to the rest of my summer shoots and fall sessions already booked! If you want to quickly get a shoot in before everything turns yellow and orange, let me know!
If you're waiting for the fall colours, they're coming fast, and spots fill up quick :) Happy middle of August everyone! Hope you're enjoying your summer!

Happy Mother's Day!!
Was trying to fit in all the beautiful mama's I've had the pleasure of photographing into one collage, and it spilled over into 2 and this still doesn't represent all of you wonderful women. So here's a snippet of the joy I get to experience photographing families. To all the moms out there, you are amazing!!

Apparently it currently feels like -31 here in Calgary (but I'm avoiding finding out for myself) so I thought I'd put the word out there that I offer indoor family sessions! This past weekend, I had the best time with this gorgeous family. Booking sessions for the next few weekends with photos guaranteed before Christmas.

It's not everyday you get a new nephew. And for my family, it's literally once every 10 years so we're all extra excited to welcome sweet baby Boston to the family. Love him to bits.
