Chickadees are so hard to capture. This was one shot of hundreds. Theyβre fast. Constantly moving, shifting. Even their stillness is temporary. You blink and theyβre gone. Iβve spent many quiet moments watching them, hoping one might pause long enough for the shutter to click. And it finally happened! Iβm so grateful to have captured this beautyβs soul and personality. It goes to show that with patience and presence, good things will come. Take a step back and open your eyes to the wonders of this world. Sometimes the smallest beings can teach you the most important lessons π

βοΈ Unlike most, these tiny 0.5 ounce birds stick around for the freezing cold Canadian winters. They are able to enter a state of controlled hypothermia at night during these cold months, lowering their body temperature to conserve energy!
