Yesterday, I shared a closer view of the path leading to Point Prim Lighthouse. Today, I'm stepping back to take in the bigger picture.
This wide view shows the lighthouse in its surroundings—the open grounds, the coastline, and the quiet sense of place that makes this corner of Prince Edward Island so memorable.
Although I missed seeing it on my most recent trip while restoration work was getting underway, I'm already looking forward to returning and seeing this special place once again.

Some places have a way of drawing you back, even when you can't quite reach them.
This view of Point Prim Lighthouse, with the path leading toward it and a quiet red bench waiting along the way, was captured on a previous visit to PEI. I wasn't able to see the lighthouse on my most recent trip, as restoration work had just begun.
So for now, I'll revisit this familiar view and look forward to the day I can walk this path again.

There is something special about watching the day come to a close from above it all.
As the sun slipped below the horizon at the top of Mt. Blue Sky, the sky slowly filled with the last light of the day. For a few quiet moments, everything else seemed to disappear.
Sometimes the best view is worth the climb.

Some mornings begin with a little unexpected perspective.
In the early golden light of dawn in Georgetown, Texas, these Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks had chosen a different kind of perch. Two standing high on separate dead branches, followed by a closer look at one enjoying the morning from above.
Quiet light, an unusual setting, and a reminder that nature always has a way of surprising you.

Not every memorable moment comes from a rare bird.
Walking the shoreline at Souris Beach, this American Herring Gull seemed completely at home—following the tide, unhurried, as the waves rolled in. It's a simple scene, but one that captures the peaceful rhythm of Prince Edward Island and the beauty found in everyday moments.

One moment, a direct stare. The next, a watchful glance toward the horizon.
Ospreys are masters of patience, spending countless hours scanning the water before striking with remarkable precision. Whether keeping an eye on me or searching for their next meal, they carry a quiet confidence that's impossible to ignore.
Watching them in their element is always a privilege.

Some of the most unforgettable moments happen long after the sun goes down.
On a quiet summer night in Prince Edward Island, the St. Peters Harbour Lighthouse stood beneath an arch of countless stars as the Milky Way stretched across the sky. These two images, captured from opposite sides of the lighthouse, are reminders that sometimes all it takes is a few steps to see a completely different perspective.
It's nights like these that keep calling me back to PEI.

Every trip to Prince Edward Island begins and ends with this remarkable crossing.
One view looks toward the horizon from the island. The other looks back at the place that keeps calling me home. Different perspectives, but the same feeling every year—gratitude for the journey and excitement for what's waiting on the other side.
With this year's trip almost here, the countdown is officially on.
