When I asked to shoot yesterday she ran out and found this absolutely perfect brown velvet dress last minute and poofed her hair up to perfect proportions - she looks like a magical Old Hollywood movie star and Harp's makeup is SO beautiful as always.

Today's weather was so strange - when I left my house to go to the shoot location it was lightly sprinkling snowflakes, then some rain, sun came out during the shoot and by the time I got back home it was hailing. (I'm not complaining, this is my favourite kind of weather -like sure give me a little bit of everything)

So now I'm sitting in my little cozy office editing these and watching horror movies and I'm in love with everything and after barely shooting since the fall and hibernating so hard I can honestly remember why I love creating with lovely, amazing, magical people.

I was looking through my archives and found these photos of my beautiful cousin Melissa - I'm not sure if I've posted them here before. When my mom was going through cancer treatment she came here to help - this was just a few minutes we had to kill in a parking lot in Abbotsford where this red tree was blooming so vibrantly.

Wisdom is knowing I would have somehow survived that very difficult time without her - but I don't know what shape I'd be in. She swept in and gently, quietly made everything around her better. Her presence is like a balm, her healing work is a gift - my cousin, my soul sister, Melissa.

Currently resetting my whole house, planning some things to shoot this spring and once again wondering what I'm doing with my photography website (I recently updated my Squarespace which annihilated my old website and then discovered I couldn't easily switch the template again and may have to rebuild from scratch but this is FINE, I have IDEAS, I'm just taking 5-10 business years to do them - so if the website seems a bit lackluster this is why)

Hello from the summer and this beautiful floral magic shoot with and

I was supposed to do another shoot today but we got rained out - thus the most cozy day editing photos and watching scary movies - hopefully I'll we'll have nicer weather on our reschedule for March.

Happy 2026!

After so much busyness leading up to the holidays I spent much of them with cozy nights in and it was wonderful. Jamie and I ended up going to Ikea with big plans and I left with just a pile of dish cloths and a new scrub brush - I think half the enjoyment of going to Ikea is seeing the little fake house set ups they build. (Although if you've ever read "Horrorstor" by Grady Hendrix it might forever change the way you imagine Ikea - I definitely was feeling like their marketplace might be an endless interdimensional hell by the time I reached the candle section)

This is an image from the fall of , reworked the periwinkle headpiece that my nephew Connor wore in the spring, spraypainting it copper. I still have this headpiece and I'm trying to decide if I have any more ideas on how to use it.

The dried floral crown is also by Lisa, it's incredible, I love it, I wore it and this gown for Halloween and felt like a magical harvest queen.

I love the sunshine we have today, I walked around my yard in my barefeet - trying to figure out how we're possibly supposed to have snow tomorrow.

I hope you all have had a gentle and kind start to this new year - I know there can be so much pressure to summarize the year before as a glorious thing or rework your entire life after all the love and chaos of the holidays, but it's ok if all you did in 2025 was survive. It's ok if you need rest. It's ok if your goals look like more gentleness, honouring your energy, if the new year looks more like tender hope than action.
