Instagram is having a mini meltdown over the last few days, and ive been trying to post photos all weekend with no luck.

As an artist, I have the worst love/hate relationship with social media and wish it wasnt necessary for a small business / artist.

Wish I could focus on what I love, like painting & photography and not have to be a social media content creator.

Im definitely missing this Easel, and cant wait until im off house arrest and feeling better to take it out into nature and paint 🎨✨️

This Easel I scored at The Co. Chilliwack when it closed down last year, and its been my favorite find. Not only is it cute, but I can carry it anywhere.

Stay cool this week my friends 🎨

Trans legislation trackers say over 1,000 anti-trans bills have been presented in recent sessions across the nation. These proposed changes appear in forty-nine states as well as in Congress, and recent records show over one hundred federal bills. Education and healthcare restrictions have come to make up about half of all tracked anti-trans bills.

Transgender people suffer from violent victimization at a rate of 93.7 per 1,000 people.
Even me and my Transmale Partner have been harassed, attacked and made to feel unsafe in our own home in chilliwack.
These arent just the states, it happens in our backyard.

Transgender and non-binary individuals are more likely to live in poverty, with gender-diverse individuals experiencing age-adjusted poverty rates as high as 17.8%, compared to 7.0% for cisgender men and women.

Nearly 101,000 people (0.33% of the Canadian population) identify as transgender or non-binary.
We are not a small number.

There is no LGBTQIA+ without the T
And if one of us is attacked, we all are.
Pride is a riot - remember who we are.
Save Trans Lives.
Get out and Vote.
Protect Trans Kids.

Before I went on COVID lock down, infact - the night before I ended up in the ER - I took my lap easel down to the river for fresh air while I paint.

My Adhd gets bored of the same view, so my paintings often take trips around town.
A little river or creek water is what makes a painting magical anyway.

People always are so interested in what im doing, but are never brave enough to come ask.
If you ever see me painting by the water, dont be afraid to say hello 🤗
I love talking about Art, and ill show you what im working on 🎨

The big reveal for this painting is confined to my back yard Rose garden as thats as far as im venturing until my plague is over.

I had all the intentions in the world of attending the Anonymous Art Show put on at by the this weekend. My health on the other hand, had other plans. I was in the Chilliwack Hospital ER until 1:00am the night before the show, and was unable to make it. Life as an artist with Chronic Illness 🎨❤️

Which brings me to the inspiration of my piece for the show.
While painting for the Anonymous Art Show and for Just Peachy Salon, I was wearing a 2 week heart event monitor for Chronic Heart issues & POTS. It was definitely the inspiration for both of these gold pieces. One went to the Anonymous Art Show, and one went to (which is still there for purchase fyi )

Bringing love, hope, and courage
to those suffering from Heart Conditions.

Even though I couldn't get a photo with it displayed on the wall, I did a mega happy dance when I heard it sold, and someone wanted to take it home!!

Thank you to this amazing community for supporting chronically ill, dynamically disabled, Q***r Artists 🎨 💖 ✨️ I hope you love the little piece of my heart.

*** swipe to see how I painted these 2 pieces, in bed, having an IV , on a heart halter monitor **

Throwback to 1 year ago, flying the flag on serpents back trail. I can't believe I was even able to do this one year ago, with how bad my health is now, but talk about seizing the moment. And im glad I did!

Took me a little longer to make my annual year in review video for 2025, but better late then never I guess.
I'm learning to celebrate the small wins right now as productivity is at an all time low as I rest and recover.
Ending 2025 with COVID and another round of health issues is not the way I wanted to end this amazing season. I didn't get to everything I wanted to do, but that's okay.
There's always this year.

This year I got my art out there more then ever before, attended markets, volunteered for good causes, photographed families, couples, new baby bumps, and four legged furry friends, I got on a rope swing I was terrified on, and so much more.

Thank you to all the amazing clients, and friends who made this an incredible year for creativity.
This job gives me purpose, joy, and laughter because of you.

Here we go 2026, ready or not 📸✨️
