“In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you,
but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.”

Impromptu scouting adventure atop Mount Washington this weekend. Didn't take that many images since the sun was going down faster than my hobbit legs could walk in the snow (it was a waddle, really).

📍Split Rock Lookout (I think?) along the Malahat stretch of Hwy 1 on Vancouver Island. The view is of the Saanich Inlet & Gowlland Tod Provincial Park. The tiny island is called Senanus Island and is off limits to the public as it holds ancient burial grounds. You can still paddleboard/kayak around it and enjoy the sights of various marine life such as seals and otters. 🦭🦦🐚

Once upon a sunrise 🌄

This beauty graced the shores of Mt. Douglas Beach, just north of Victoria, BC. In the distance, Mount Baker is basking in this colourful explosion of lights.

First time in Cathedral Grove in MacMillan Provincial Park. Despite having lived on this island for so many years, I never found myself venturing to the western parks and communities. Not so much for the lack of desire or opportunity; there's simply too much to see on our hunk of rock!

This was supposed to be a sunrise photo but thick fog descended over Campbell River as the sun rose up yesterday. Instead, I took the opportunity to practice composition and mood! I'm very satisfied with how this image turned out, especially given that it was shot on a phone. Long exposure on Pixels is solid as far as I'm concerned.

I'm going to post the rest of the images shortly. Editing takes a bit longer when you're having fun 😊

These photos are a few moons old, all lost in the dark corners of my memory card. When I used to live in Sidney, I'd walk the seawalk that stretches through most of town, and soak in the first rays of the sun. A peaceful way to start the day 🌅
