Shout out to the dream team with .ca and .lum for another awesome team building event captured in the style of the Amazing Race for . 🙌

We moved all around Greater Vancouver, from mini Olympics, to helicopter rides, to fencing, to dunk tanks, and much more, it was an incredible action-packed day. 🚁 🤺

The camera team was there to capture every moment of the day, and we can’t wait to show the highlight reel. 📹

This week we attended the annual Town Hall in Coquitlam and it reminded us how lucky we are to live in a community where so many people genuinely care.

We shared ideas about improving communication and making it easier for local businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and city departments to collaborate on positive community initiatives. We also loved hearing about the future vision of eventually connecting bike lanes all the way toward Rocky Point Park.

Since 2020, we’ve spent countless hours cleaning trails, parks, and greenspaces because we care deeply about protecting nature and wildlife in our city. Over time we realized we could create even more impact by bringing the community together through organized cleanup events focused on education, stewardship, and positive change.

Thank you to all the volunteers, local businesses, developers, nonprofits, and supporters who continue helping us make a difference. Seeing residents come together at Town Hall to share their concerns and hopes for the future of our city was genuinely inspiring.

We also took a photo with Mayor Richard Stewart as he won’t be seeking re-election and it was his last town hall. We thanked him for many years of dedication to this city and community, helping shape the Coquitlam many of us grew up in and now proudly call home.

Thank you as well to all current councillors and city staff working hard to make Coquitlam the best place possible for everyone.

From the runway to the auction floor, the energy in the room translated into real impact, with funds raised going directly toward the incredible work of the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre .

Preparation is one of the most important factors when it comes to efficiency and effectiveness. They must regularly test out every single access gate key to remote areas and trails they have to ensure it’s all up to date. 🔐

During critical tasks, every moment matters, and there cannot be any second guessing with lives on the line. 🙏

We went with one of the teams to test out the keys with their UTV on Burke Mountain. 🏔️

Every year we’ve just been kind of winging it with feeding our garden, but this year we’re out to win our city’s Best Garden award. 🥇

This setup has really taken shape with a mix of everything we’ve collected over the last few years: rare hydrangea trees, roses, strawberries, tomatoes, lilacs, clematis, and a lot more. Our goal is to maximize the plant potentials this season.

This time, we’re being more intentional with how we feed everything and we are grateful for the support of CANNA. We started things off filling up our 2 main planters with their Terra Professional Plus Soil, a light mix of Terra Vega for the whole garden, and added RHIZOTONIC XP to help everything establish nicely. We also did a top dress on a couple recent transplants to give them a smoother transition.

These photos are from a few days ago when we planted everything, and already we’re seeing things respond with stronger growth and better colour.

We’ll show how it’s progressing over the next few weeks, this is just the starting point. 🍃

When UrbanRemo and Michelle O'Flynn Cozzuol invited me to come be part of a performance at HIGH SCORE as lead vocalist, it was an immediate “hell yeah” 🙌 check out the full 27 minute performance.

With a month to go, we got to work on the set list with UrbanRemo on bass, Rob and Neal on guitar, Danny on drums, RG and Michelle O'Flynn Cozzuol on backup vocals and Swan stepping in for lead vocals on the last couple tracks. 🎶

A monumental day yesterday for our community cleanup initiatives. The second cleanup organized with my wife Vicky, we had 100 volunteers in attendance and removed truck loads of trash from Coquitlam parks and green spaces, along with 4,771 cigarette butts. This was in collaboration with Carl Ronka from Web of Life Society that oversaw the river trail portion of the cleanup with help from Captain Scott Legacy Society.

It’s bittersweet, because of how amazing the impact is that we as a group made, but also because of how widespread the problem of dumping and litter is.

Huge thank you to Ed Hall, Richard Stewart, Steve Kim, Robert Mazzarolo, Craig Hodge, Matt Djonlic, and Teri Towner for attending and supporting this undertaking, and thank you to Coquitlam Parks for removing the final resulting piles at the end.
