A monumental day yesterday for our community cleanup initiatives. The second cleanup organized with my wife Vicky, we had 100 volunteers in attendance and removed truck loads of trash from Coquitlam parks and green spaces, along with 4,771 cigarette butts. This was in collaboration with Carl Ronka from Web of Life Society that oversaw the river trail portion of the cleanup with help from Captain Scott Legacy Society.
It’s bittersweet, because of how amazing the impact is that we as a group made, but also because of how widespread the problem of dumping and litter is.
Huge thank you to Ed Hall, Richard Stewart, Steve Kim, Robert Mazzarolo, Craig Hodge, Matt Djonlic, and Teri Towner for attending and supporting this undertaking, and thank you to Coquitlam Parks for removing the final resulting piles at the end.
We couldn’t have done it without our sponsors as well:
Wesbild, Townline, Infinity Properties, Coquitlam Search and Rescue, Encorp Pacific (Canada), Coach Dave, What's On! Tri-Cities, Rocky Point Ice Cream, Cassandra Cake Co., and Check the posts.
Stay tuned for the next one!
