The last model runs of the night are in!

The entire Eastern Ontario region will be seeing a minimum of 15cm (upper Ottawa Valley less, Pembroke/Petawawa almost nothing) while some parts like West Ottawa, Carleton Place, Perth, Smiths Falls, Kemptville, etc could see up to 30cm with small pockets of even more.

There will be absolutely zero ice involvement with this one, just a straight cold snow. It will start arriving over the next couple hours and into early tomorrow morning. Busses will definitely be cancelled for STEO, Tri-Board, 50% chance for Renfrew County, and about a 45% chance for OTSA. This will be a long, long snowstorm with up to 18-22 hours of snow across the region. Oh, and there's more on Friday, but that's a story for a different day.

Good morning!

The winter storm arriving tonight and happening all day tomorrow is no longer a guessing game. Models are now agreeing on storm timing, storm track, and snowfall totals.

There is going to be a flash freeze this evening, and that will coincide with the arrival of the storm. That's scheduled for late evening, which also means storm arrival is late evening. As stated, this will be an all day Thursday event barring any additional changes between now and tonight.

This is the type of storm that will give the vast majority of the Eastern Ontario region a minimum of 15cm. However there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that there will be some places, whether it be in the Ottawa Valley or somewhere south-southeast of Ottawa or even towards Kingston, that receives 30cm+ based on current model data.

This is inevitably going to cause widespread bus cancellations tomorrow across the region. Expect Environment Canada to start issuing snowfall warnings soon.
