Highland Calves!

Swipe to see the cutest video I think I’ve ever captured 🥹

I like to keep myself humble by occasionally attempting to record through my 600mm lens without a stabilizer. Nine times out of ten I would rather take the picture but every now and then I love the challenge of sneaking in a quick video as well. Watching these highland calves playing in the sunshine was one of those moments and I’m so in love with this short clip I got. Sometimes an action shot just can’t capture a memory quite like this 🫶🏼

Lately I’ve been really enjoying the process of bringing my photos to life in post-production, so I thought I’d share a little before and after! I took some shots of this House sparrow in my backyard and although it was a dark/gloomy day, I was still able to produce a quality image from the RAW file. I love photographing mushrooms on my hikes! Im still going through my 2025 photos and found this one with 3 sneaky bugs! Swipe to see the surprise guests

In case you’re as interested in plant & fungi identification as I am, here’s some facts about this one:
These mushrooms are Hypholoma capnoides, more commonly known as Conifer tufts! They are often found during autumn in dense clusters on decaying conifer wood such as pine, spruce, and fir. These mushrooms are edible but closely resemble some poisonous species so proper identification is important if you’re planning on foraging!

There’s something so peaceful about spending time with wildlife 🦌 Whenever I get the chance, I love to pause, observe, and capture some moments through my lens.

Although I’m still holding onto winter, it’s great to see them enjoying the warmer days and open fields 🌾
