HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE
——— Part One

When Ericka and I first started sharing ideas for hers and Landon's engagement session... I just KNEW it was going to be a very, very good one! Why?

Because right from the very beginning, Ericka knew she didn't want engagement photos that simply looked pretty... they needed to evoke feelings, too! So we leaned into the cinematic vibes fully and completely for this portion of the session and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome!

Using movement, playfulness, and a little (okay, maybe A LOT) of PDA... we encapsulated their bond into these photos as if they were stills from a movie you can't stop rewatching over and over again.

And somehow, despite these two comedians trying to convince me they would be "awkward in front of the camera," they went out there and leaned into every moment as if they'd done it a hundred times before! Model energy ⚡️

I am one happy happy girl when couples trust my vision enough to be fully themselves and even collaborate alongside me!! 🥹

She said “dreamy…”
and I said “I know the perfect plant shop.”
& the rest unfolded in front of my lens ☁️🪴

When Cass mentioned wanting something dreamy and romantic, my mind immediately went to soft natural light, lively greenery, and an environment that felt calm and intimate. (I think we nailed the location, what about you? 👀)

Every session concept is different because no two couples are the same! Which is precisely why I take the time to really understand your vibe, not just what you say, but the little details behind it. From conversations to questionnaires – nailing a concept that feels genuine is incredibly important to me!

This entire session came together from a few simple keywords and a lot of intention. We pulled inspiration from Cass’ natural gravitation toward greenery, crystals, and those soft, earthy, romantic textures that make any space feel magical 🤍

Imagine dreaming of a Rocky Mountain elopement… and then standing there living it 🥹

A + V (& their families) journeyed across oceans from multiple different countries to all come together in Banff for their intimate ceremony at Lake Minnewanka.

It was an absolutely beautiful day with the kind of bold, early-summer sun that hugs everything in warmth and leaves you with sun-kissed cheeks at the end. With how uncertain the weather in the Rockies can be – we're always happy with a sunny day with a soft breeze 🤍

Engagement season has been going strong this year! I've been lucky enough to hang out with some of my summer wedding couples already (hint hint: they're all the best 🤭)

With the weather finally starting to warm up again, it's time to get back outside for alllll the sessions and I'm so stoked! This winter felt long + dreary – bring on the sunny evenings! 🌞

A few stills from a Canmore micro-wedding I second shot for a couple of years ago!

Simple, intentional, and such a solid day all around. And the venue? 10/10… I’d LOVE to go back to document another ceremony!! in Canmore, AB!

We also saw some absolutely life changing Auroras this trip - but I'll save those for another day 🤭💫

I've said it before and I'll say it again...
the newborn bubble is sacred!

Regardless if this is your first or third baby, it's an adjustment period for everyone. Being welcomed into that space is something I hold so close to my heart. It means the world to me to photograph your family in such a joyous, yet vulnerable season of life.

I hold space while your family navigates naps and feeds,
& new sibling dynamics,
& sore c-section scars,
& missing your big kids,
all while trying to soak in every second of your littlest little...

I have 2 tiny humans at home and I know exactly how it goes 🥹

My approach to photographing your newborn session is to document it for how it truly felt. Sometimes, I use gentle guidance to help create those connections; other time I simply observe and eternalize the moments you didn't realize were unfolding in the other room.

Either way – I'm documenting unconditional love in its purest form and delivering you a full gallery of memories to cherish for a lifetime!

In-home sessions that feel like a cozy Friday night are my favourite for winter!! They're unique and personal with endless ideas + concepts to make it feel genuine to who you really are🍷🍕🕯️

Choosing activities you and your partner ALREADY enjoy doing together is key 💭

This session had sips of red wine while the homemade pizza baked in the oven with Michael Bublé playing in the background – yes it was as romantic as it sounds!!!

B&W or Colour? 👀

Every so often, there's a photo that STUMPS me with one question in mind...
"Is this supposed to be B&W or full colour?"

In case you didn't know... I base my decision making for B&W images off of purely vibes and vibes alone 🤣 I get a feelin' in my gut when I see a photo that NEEDS to be black and white!

But this one??? STUMPED. I edited it both ways and delivered it both ways because I really couldn't decide which one felt like the right decision. Of course, it's not the deepest of problems to have while editing... any photographer can tell you that...

But sometimes a photo is calling me to make it B&W and sometimes I sit there for an afternoon, with both versions, asking myself, "DO I DELIVER BOTH!?!?"

Yes. The answer is most often... yes.

Now I'm wondering... what would you do? 💫

S + R joined me for a mini engagement session earlier this month during my holiday mini sessions – and I'm sooo glad they did! I mean, just look at how lovey dovey they are!!!

Engagement sessions are some of my favourite sessions to capture and I'll tell you why...

💍 After a fresh engagement, couples are in a swirl of excitement and pure bliss. Have you ever seen a 3 year old on Christmas morning? It's a lot like that! Just pure happiness that I get to document in-between a lot of giggles, kisses, and silent glances that scream, "I can't believe this is happening!"

I love spending time hearing about all of the details and watching you two smile at one another uncontrollably the entire time. Humans are just the cutest!

The best part about engagement sessions, though? THE CUSTOMIZATION!!! We get to make it uniquely yours using locations, props, outfits, & a curation of moments that make the final gallery feel like snapshots from a movie made only about you.
