A new chapter. More adventures. An extra candle on the cake.

28 was a challenging and transformative year for me. However, I celebrated 5 years of business this past June and I look forward to celebrating many more and all that’s yet to come. Thank you all for being here and supporting me.

Hey, I’m Dakota!

I’m working on being more present with my brand so I took the opportunity to document myself surrounded by what I created with the help of Bloom Wildly + MDRN Studio Rental yesterday.

— I have a Mini Aussie named Harlee who is 11
— I lived in Banff National Park for 3 summer seasons
— I was previously a flight attendant out of YOW
— I have a natural blonde streak in my hair
— I have 3 small tattoos
— I have a hyphenated first name but I prefer Dakota
— I tried sky diving in Golden, BC
— I have owned a camera of some sort from a young age

The grandmothers, whose love started it all. The mother figures — aunts, stepmoms, mentors, and women who love like a mother. The women who have experienced a loss and should always be celebrated and acknowledged. The women growing, guiding, and giving their hearts, no matter the title. The ones wanting to capture the big feelings in the small, everyday moments. These are for you.

I documented this sweet family in their home — spending the best quality time together 💛

They started by decorating cupcakes in the kitchen, enjoyed time at the breakfast nook, read creative books on the couch, played with toys, had a fun dance party + even got to jump around on Mom & Dad's bed.

This session really showed me the importance of including an activity (or multiple) during your session with your littles.
