In the quiet of the winter woods, I found myself face to face with a Great Horned Owl, a true symbol of wild majesty. Standing under its intense yellow gaze, I felt every excuse for my self‑imposed photography hiatus fall away.

After weeks of second‑guessing my work and leaving the camera on the shelf, this silent guardian pulled me right back into the moment reminding me why I started chasing wildlife with a lens in the first place.

There’s a special kind of stillness that happens when an apex nocturnal hunter lets you share its branch for a few stolen seconds, and I walked away feeling grounded, grateful, and creatively recharged.

From simple snaps to something that finally feels like art

that was my 2025. This year pushed me hard, in life and behind the lens, but every early morning, missed shot, and small win shaped the photographer I’m becoming.

Heading into 2026 with a new eye, a little more patience, and a lot more gratitude for the wild souls that let me share their world. Happy New Year, and thank you for being here through the ups and all the downs. 🥂🦊🦅

Sometimes life gets heavy and it feels like I’m always trying to catch up. This year has been a lot for me personally, and that’s why I haven’t been posting as much. I’m hoping this Christmas will be a small break from the chaos, a moment to breathe and reset.

To anyone out there struggling with mental health, please know you’re not alone. I see you, I feel you, and I’m right there with you. In this picture are two tiny ornaments from my kids, and somehow these little things make my whole world feel a bit lighter and brighter.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and for still being here with me.

Crimson Ember

Winter’s whisper sings,
A cardinal’s flame glows bright,
Bare branches reveal.

Winter has painted the forest in icy blues, making it the perfect time to spot stunning Northern Cardinals perching boldly against the cold. Their vibrant red plumage is a beacon of warmth when the world turns quiet and bare.

Duality of Life

Grace and grit meet in the gaze of this red fox, reminding us that beauty coexists with hardship; as light falls, shadows linger, yet every soul and struggle holds worth.
Sometimes the wild speaks in silence and scars, teaching that fighting to see another sunrise is art itself.

Whisper through the dark
Fox survives, hope ignites dawn
All deserve sunrise

Cerulean Silence of the Tundra

Ghost fur in sunlight,
Silent watcher on snow’s edge
Arctic dreams linger.

Majestic Arctic wolf with thick winter coat, adapted to harsh cold. A rare fact: Arctic wolves have smaller ears and shorter snouts to minimize heat loss, an adaptation unique among wolves.

Sunlit Sanctuary of the Sanglier

Beneath the bright Canadian sun, this wild boar luxuriates in its cooling ritual a full-body mud bath followed by a gentle retreat into the dappled forest light. In the warmer months, Canadian sangliers seek out shaded wallows and ponds to regulate body temperature and guard against biting insects. The mud not only protects their skin but serves as a signpost to others, marking territory in the soft earth. With the midday heat rising, this powerful wanderer slips back toward the trees, leaving behind the shimmer of sunlight on its earthen armor a portrait of calm amid the wild.
