Ontario Winter Games 2026 is a wrap! Northern Ontario District athletes and their support crew travelled to Orillia to test their mettle against the best 13-15 year old skiers in the province.
Goals were met, friendships were forged, and nary a kid got lost. Win, win, win!

What a cool, quirky night. Sudbury's running community honoured local legend, Vince Perdue in the best way possible; by enticing Ultra Running Legend, Hall of Famer, endurance race designer, Master of Sadomasochistic Craft, Godfather of the Woods, Lazarus Lake (Gary Cantrell) to leave his home in Tennessee to chat with trail nuts in Northern Ontario in the middle of a blizzard. He's a self proclaimed fan of stupid ideas.
Funds raised got them to their $25,000 goal. The money will be donated to the Nickel District Conservation Foundation - NDCF and a hilltop within will forever be known as Perdue Peak.

Vince is the reason running has gained traction in Sudbury. He's the driving force behind the ever-expanding and SudburyRocks Race, Run or Walk, and a constant, supportive presence for anyone willing to move on their own two feet. Well deserved indeed.
