It was a beautiful day for a scenic road trip! We wanted to avoid the 4 lane highway as much as possible but also looked to maximize our time so we took the 107 to the 213 (Hammonds Plains road) and eventually reached our goal, highway 3.
We followed this gorgeous scenic St. Margaret's Bay Road where the houses and ocean views blew us away they were so beautiful!
We stopped in Chester and had a lovely fish and chip lunch at The Stretch Cafe where the menu looked like a vinyl record!

A short trip into Chester and a drive along Water Street before we headed off to Mahone Bay for a shot of the Iconic Three Sisters. We continued on to Lunenburg where we were lucky enough to see the Bluenose II being refreshed for the coming tourist season. Our final destination of the day was out to Blue Rocks for a quick photo opportunity before turning around and heading back home.

A long day for the driver but we all enjoyed it!
Nova Scotia is a beautiful province - especially the secondary roadways and small communities that line the coast. If you have the opportunity to travel this year, Nova Scotia is worth a visit. 😀

When we first started cruising, we didn't know enough about what was available to be fully prepared. Once on the ship, we learned..alot!
The must-pack item is my travel mug to keep my tea hot as I wander around the ship. For others, it's their oversized insulated cups for "refreshing" drinks. 😀
Also, a reefsafe sunscreen! (Not all sunscreens are created equal).

What’s your must-pack travel item?

Had a great visit to see Quackett's Cove Homestead and enjoy a homestead brunch of duck eggs, homemade bread with homemade jams, and their own maple flavoured bacon and chili flavoured bacon. Next, we visited Peggy's Cove Lighthouse! Windy, as usual, but so beautiful!

It has been a lovely weekend so far.

What an absolutely gorgeous day it was here in Nova Scotia. A lovely walk on the Atlantic View trail where we watched two Osprey fishing, saw one actually dive and catch dinner, then we saw a beautiful healthy looking fox crossing the trail. An hour later, we saw a fox near the same area, with no way to tell if it was the same one, but it was also healthy looking. Went to Dartmouth and Shawn de Moss and I enjoyed a delicious fish and chip supper with friends, Monika and Neil Best, as well as Janice and Jim David.

Hard to believe that tomorrow we're expecting a strong Nor'easter. Will miss an opportunity to tour Quackett's Cove Homestead, but we've made tentative plans to try again in 2 weeks! Can't wait for that!

Finally recovered from Jet Lag after our amazing Legendary Voyage with Holland America Line on her gorgeous Noordam.
We were on board for 50 days and honestly, the time flew by! Talking about the great food choices, excellent service and variety of entertainment was a huge factor in our level of enjoyment. We could always find places to sit and socialize. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we've already booked 2 more cruises with HAL. 2027 March and again in April on the Nieuw Statendam. Can't wait!

In the meantime, we're staying home until October. Then it will be Scotland for 11 days, followed by 2 Celebrity Cruises. Roadtrips around Nova Scotia are in planning stages, so if you would like to see more of our Province, I hope you'll be back.
