Snowshoe Hare

I was driving away from Hartlen Point when I watched this Hare make its way down to the beach. I turned around and was able to get down to the beach for a beach bum bunny picture before it ran off.

Goldenrod Crab Spider

While I was searching for insects I caught a bright green-yellow colour out of the corner of my eye. This goldenrod crab spider was on a web between our deck and green bin, a spot that made would be incredibly difficult to photograph without disturbing the web. A minute later it decided to make its way onto the green bin where it was much easier to photograph.

Red fox

I seen this fox further up the trail and figured it would be making its way through one of the other trails by the time I got there. To my surprise it was sitting on said trail instead, even more surprising was when it laid down and curled up seemingly ready for a nap in my presence.

Diurnal Firefly

I’ve been trying to get a photo I’m happy with of these guys and I finally got my chance after one landed on some grass. Although it is a firefly it does not produce light due to being active during the day and even with its lower body out of focus, you can see there is a lack of a “lantern”.

Northern Parula

This male Northern Parula was very active, nearly non stop branch hopping and chatting with some other nearby Parula’s. I only got a couple chances to get a photo and some were missed due to repositioning to get a clearer view.

Male Northern Harrier

Although nicknamed the “ Grey Ghost “, this northern harrier made its presence very known. I believe I unknowingly walked into the outskirts of nesting grounds. There was no immediate reaction from this Male or the female that was also present briefly. However, the male let me know after some time that I had overstayed my welcome by approaching me and faking dives.
