I have a bunch of stuff to post … but all I can think about right now is the food at Deanna and Alex’s wedding. It was absolutely amazing (I highly recommend restaurant if you are in the area). I think I say the same thing to all my couples - good food and a great atmosphere (usually with some great music) is key to an amazing wedding. But if you also have a super cute dog, that is also a winning ingredient. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your day ♥️

I’m beyond excited to share that, not long after joining the Wedding Photojournalists Association , one of my images received an official Master Piece Award in their 2025 competition!

This photo was taken at the wedding of and . The very first wedding ever held at Fort Wellington National Historic Site .canada. In the evening, they brought out light sabers for their guests, (more people should do this!). The mix of laughter, colour, and pure chaos made for some of my favourite moments to photograph.

I’m so grateful to Cindy Lee and Adam for inviting me to be part of such an awesome day.

The WPJA was founded on a love for authenticity in wedding photography, recognizing art in the real, unscripted moments of a marriage celebration. Honoured to have been accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association.

“If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn’t need to lug around a camera.” Lewis Hine

And I’m taking the opportunity to also share a little sneak peak of images from a wedding that was filled with firsts for both me and the couple. And to be true to the wedding photojournalism theme - none of these images were staged. Everything was captured in the moment - without intervention.

Also, the venue (For Wellington) had never previously been used for a wedding and it was AMAZING! Thank you to .canada

It was the first time that guns were fired during the ceremony and then there were also light sabers … but this is just a preview so you’ll have to wait for the rest.

I’m so behind with my social posting - these two will be married next weekend already! Their historical themed wedding will include a few firsts for me (and for them I guess 🙂). It was a load of fun hanging out with them for portraits, I know the party on Saturday is going to be brilliant.

distant, lustrous, beautiful, silent, unconscious, unwelcoming.

Fullness of knowledge in their course, emptiness of chartless
ignorance, a universe moving in silence, a mind alone in its
bounds.

Not they moved my thoughts, not the marvel of their chill

Mr. & Mrs Archibald celebrated their marriage at a beautifully decorated campsite along the Ottawa river last weekend.
