I have been working as professional photographer since 1996 and over the years, been fortunate enough to photograph professional ballet companies, theatre companies and even, on four different occasions, hired to shoot Cirque du Soleil. Shooting live events is a niche of mine and I've been covering all of the openings for Kelowna Art Gallery for a few years now and been hired by BC Arts Alliance t

o capture Cultural Days as well as Spinal Cord Injury BC, Scotia Bank, the Earl's corporation and more to cover their live events as well. I have photographed more than 60 weddings but don't do them anymore as I find them too draining both physically and emotionally. I've shot a lot of action sports when my kids were growing up and have been hired to capture other people's kids. I love doing family portraits and have a great ability to capture animal photographs, especially dogs.

The show I've been most excited to see since Kelowna Actors Studio announced this season opened Wednesday night. Dear Evan Hansen is an incredible must-see musical that asks the question, when you look at someone, what do you see? So many of us in this world feel like we're not seen, that we don't matter. This show is proof that yes, in fact, we do. Now playing until June 28, this really is a must-see event. Here's a sampling of the shots I took during dress rehearsal. I seriously want to go back and see if again through both eyes with no camera in the way. Absolutely stellar cast. BRAVO!!!!! Tickets at kelownaactorsstudio dot com.

While most of you here of FB know me as a photographer, I am also an author. The Art of Getting Lost and Found is the story of two women over a one-week period in August, but 130 years apart. One is desperately trying to find her voice, the other has found it and knows she needs to get lost.

Absolutely loved the challenge of photographing this one! Kelowna Actors Studio director Randy Leslie took the classic musical Guys & Dolls outside the box and beyond the stage making it a more interactive experience. The triple-threat talent in this production is mind-blowing and I'd forgotten just how many songs there are that I love in this production. HUGE kudos to the entire cast and crew for pulling this one off and making it such a fun romp. The show runs until May 10 and tickets, if there are still some left, are available at the Kelowna Actors Studio dot com website.
