Eva & Jeremy’s wedding day was the perfect reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are often the simplest ones. 🤍

They were married on Eva’s family farm just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by the people who know and love them best.

Friends and family helped transform farm into a beautuful venue. Hair, florals, food, décor, and desserts were all lovingly created by the people closest to them, a true community effort that made the day even more special.

It was a sunny fall day with just a bit of crisp autumn air, the kind of day that feels full of possibility.

Some photographers find it annoying…

I think it’s pretty darn cute.

Every wedding has one, Uncle Joe with his camera or Aunt Marg with her iPad, absolutely determined to get the shot.

And sure, sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge if it starts to affect my ability to capture your day authentically. In those moments, I’ll politely ask them to step aside.

But honestly, 9 times out of 10 it’s not a problem at all.

They’re excited. They’re proud. They’re having the best time celebrating you.

And seeing their faces light up while they try to capture a special moment? It’s pretty sweet.

This is a question I get all the time…

“Can we include our pup in our engagement photos?” 🐾

Absolutely. Let’s be honest, your fur baby is basically another member of your relationship, so it makes perfect sense to include them. But a little planning, a bit of help, and realistic expectations go a long way in making sure your session stays fun (and stress-free).

Here are my top tips for successfully including your fluffy pals:

1. Keep it short
Include them for just a portion of your session, ideally toward the end. Engagement sessions can be very stimulating for dogs: new locations, new smells, excited humans, and lots of energy. It’s wonderful to have a few images with them, but it’s just as important to have plenty of photos of just the two of you.

2. Bring a helper
Have a friend or “handler” on hand to hold the leash, take your pup for a walk, or step in when they’re not in photos. This keeps you present, relaxed, and focused on each other instead of worrying about where your pup is tied up 😉

3. Set realistic expectations
We all adore our pets, but be honest about how well your pup listens and how easily they get distracted. The better your expectations, the smoother (and happier) the experience will be.

4. Treats = magic
Just like with kids… bribery is highly encouraged 😂

I have two schools of thought on this one, and honestly, neither is wrong 🤍

If you’re dreaming of something cozy, warm, and relaxed, choose pieces that feel comfortable and effortless, textures, layers, and tones that reflect that laid-back intimacy.

If you’re leaning toward an elevated, timeless, more editorial feel, then this is your moment to step it up.
These are your engagement photos, after all. A classic, more formal look can instantly elevate the mood of your images and create something that feels refined, romantic, and lasting.

At the end of the day, the best outfits are the ones that feel like you, just a little more intentional ✨
