April and May have been a whirlwind in the best way.

Between family sessions, engagements, quinceañeras, celebrations, and all the beautiful milestones in between, life has been moving fast. Add in unpredictable weather, rescheduled sessions, shifting schedules, and trying my best to accommodate everyone, and it's definitely been a season.

Truthfully, I've stopped chasing the idea of "balance." I think balance is a little bit of a lie. Right now, I'm just showing up every day and doing the best I can with what's in front of me, pouring my heart into my family, my clients, and the work I love.

As I look through these images, all I can think is wow.

Thank you for trusting me with some of the most meaningful moments of your lives. Thank you for your patience when the weather doesn't cooperate. Thank you for your flexibility when life happens. Thank you for inviting me into your homes, your celebrations, your love stories, and your memories.

Being able to document love in all its forms and tell your stories through my lens is something I will never take for granted.

The Calle family welcomed me back into their home today and as I sat there documenting them in this season of life, I kept thinking about how many years we’ve been doing this together now.

From their engagement to their wedding to now watching them raise two beautiful little girls.

There’s something so sacred about being invited back into people’s lives over and over again. Not just for the big milestones but for the in between moments too. The quiet ones. The real ones.

Today was exactly that. Bare feet in the living room. Toys everywhere. Afternoon cuddles. Giggles echoing through the house. Nothing posed. Nothing forced. Just love. Real love.

And honestly, this family means so much to me. They’ve become so much more than clients over the years. I know their family, their people, their hearts. I’ve witnessed so much life alongside them and I’ll never stop being grateful for the trust they continue to give me 🥹✨

Watching Carlos get emotional today while his girls laughed with their mama reminded me again why this work is so important to me. These photographs become part of a family’s legacy. Proof of how deeply they loved each other in this exact season of life.

I want to be clear about where I stand.

I am against the inhumanity of ICE and the harm being done to immigrant communities. This is not something I can separate from my life, my values, or my work. I was raised by immigrants. I was raised by my abuelas, both of whom sacrificed and worked tirelessly for their family. Everything I am exists because of what they endured, what they gave up, and how hard they loved.

My abuelas were not criminals. They were women who worked endlessly, who carried families on their backs, who crossed borders and barriers so their children and grandchildren could have safety, opportunity, and a future. Their hands built the foundation of my life and this business. To watch immigrants today be dehumanized, criminalized, and torn from their families feels deeply personal.

Immigrants are not abstract issues or political talking points to me. They are my history. They are my blood. They are the reason I understand resilience, responsibility, and community. Staying silent while people who remind me of my abuelas are treated as disposable is not something I can do.

As a business owner, I believe integrity matters more than comfort. I believe growth should never come at the cost of our humanity. If speaking up means moving more slowly or taking up less space, that is a choice I am at peace with.

I stand with immigrants because their stories live inside my own. I carry my abuelas with me in the way I work, the way I lead, and the way I show up. Choosing compassion and dignity is not a statement for me, it is simply how I honor where I come from.
