I could start this with YO. And look I just did.

I’m just your pal coming along for the ride that is your wedding day. Yes, I share heartfelt moments, and beautiful freeze frames from people’s lives and couples celebrating their first day of marriage, but why? Why is documenting weddings the thing that has become my vocation, what is the heart behind what I do?

Real life is already happening at weddings and I’m just there to make sure there’s proof of that. Take away the photographer, the videographer, the other vendors, and maybe the only itinerary that would matter is the time you’re spending with your family.

What a privilege and gift it is that we have the means to document those we love most. People used to go their entire life having a handful of photographs of those they loved or even themselves. So what an honour it is for me to be able to add to your collection of memories and photographs that you will return to over and over throughout the years. Each time someone you love leaves this world, each time you miss someone down to your core, each time you just want to see their smile one more time - I’m honoured I can provide the balm your soul will need in that moment.

Sometimes it’s those who are closest to us that can’t communicate how incredibly important we are to them because they think it goes with out saying, however a lot of the time, it needs to be said.

Yes I’ll roast you during a portrait session, or laugh a little too loud at my own joke but the question you may return to is “why weddings”? Proof.

Proof of relationships built.
Proof of celebrations.
Proof of emotions.
Proof of a life lived.

And as I photograph you, I hope you know I admire you and gaze on YOU trying to make you see how beautifully and wonderfully you are made. “I am so loved” is what I hope you think when you look at your wedding photographs.
