I love being curious & creative and am still experimenting and growing...enjoying every step of the journey. By day (and night), I am a critical care nurse working with the tiniest members of our population. Working long 12 hour shifts in healthcare is stressful, demanding and exhausting, but it is always rewarding. During my "off" time, I am often found out exploring with my camera in hand. As a

child, my siblings and I were frequently the subjects of our Dad's photos. In my adult years, my Dad and I definitely bonded over our shared passion for photography. He was an incredible photographer in his own right and I have learned so much from him and from studying his photographs. Photography is my creative outlet and provides me with much needed peace and sanity. I am constantly learning and pushing the boundaries of my knowledge to improve the look, feel and quality of my photographs. This page gives me a place where I can share my images, receive feedback and learn from other like-minded individuals. Thank you for taking the time to view my images.

Do you believe in signs? Me...not so much. Being in the healthcare field, I have a scientific brain but I've had a few very specific things happen over the past year that I can't explain. Like this little Barred Owl...why yesterday of all days, on the 1 year anniversary of my Dad's passing, did it show up right outside my window? I've always wanted to see an owl in its natural surroundings and never have...until yesterday. Anyone who knows my Dad, knew he loved his birds and photographed many throughout his life. I take comfort in believing he sent this beautiful bird to me to let me know he is always with me. ❤️

I'm going through withdrawal...it seems like forever ago since I last picked up my camera. Currently nursing a fractured wrist and am unable to use my left hand. I can't wait to get the "all clear" from my medical team and get back to viewing life through my lens.

I’ve been sidelined for the next little while and it’s driving me crazy. All I want to do is get out with my camera, but I have very strict orders from my doctor…no lifting, bending or twisting of the wrist. Fingers crossed I heal quickly and can get back out there doing what I love the most! For now…I’m limited to viewing everyone else’s images. 🥺😢

Buffleheads
I have never seen these little birds before. I sat at the river's edge for the better part of an hour watching these cute entertaining birds. They proved to be quite challenging to photograph because they would only sit on the surface of the water for a very short time before diving under again. When they dive, they remind me a little of the loon in that there is no predicting where they would pop up again. Just when you get your camera focused on them, they were gone again. I will definitely keep my eyes open for these active and entertaining little birds whenever I'm near the Grand River.
