A few shots from tonight :) lots of green tomatoes (forgot to get shots of the tiny tim variety - they're not so tiny!) The Golden Berries aka Ground Cherries are flowering, as are the peppers (one pepper plant has four fruits already!) And TONS of squash and zucchini! Anyway, enjoy!

Some shots of tonight's garden. Didn't get a whole bunch, skeeters and no-see-ums were out in force. Did a really good snap pea harvest, the blueberries are almost ready, the corn silk is strong with us even if the ears are small, and the tomatoes are in bloom!! Can't hardly wait for the burst of red to come! Cucumbers are definitely going strong this year, too!

Beans, beans, the musical fruit!

First bean harvest of the year! We grow scarlett runner beans on the south side of our fence. If you're walking in the park behind us, you'll see them climbing up and over, bright red flowers calling to be pollinated. Ryan is also growing some bush beans in another area in the garden, but they haven't started to become pods yet, lol.

The corn patch is doing really well, my Dollarama lettuce strips are coming along well (especially since I now have them under the pop-up tent so they're shaded and off the ground,) and Ryan's onion seedlings are growing steadily (they look dry in the pic, but are quite moist.)

Quite pleased with our wee homestead hehe!

Quite proud of myself.

Yesterday I schlepped in 4 huge hanging planters and one regular sized one.

Today I installed the basket hooks and hoisted the baskets up onto them!

Yes, I know they are low. But it was as high as I could reach, plus I wanted them low enough for me to add fertilizer and be able to dead-head them on my own.

Enjoy some pics of them, and a few shots of what's growing elsewhere in our little slice!

The "before" pics. Well, we had already done a bit. The 2 terraced garden beside the shed was overgrown with blackberries, and Ryan ripped them all out. It's an on-going task.

Hi!

So a lot of you know that Ryan and I have a nice yard that we use to grow vegetables and berries during the spring/summer months. I figured that instead of just random posts in amongst my personal stuff (that no one reads, haha) I would consolidate everything to a page, so I can more easily find old photos and posts, and YOU can get updates on how we're doin'!

Please feel free to give (good) advice, and ask any questions you have about how we do things etc.

Much love to all who follow,

Jaclyn
