At the end of the day I picked up Jonny’s R5 and took some portraits of them at golden hour (I have a canon mark iV) I can’t decide now if I want to switch to mirrorless or not but the focus seems to work so much better!

I always find myself at a crossroads, contemplating the idea of diving into wedding photography. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. There’s something so profoundly beautiful about capturing love in its purest form—the stolen glances, the joyful tears, the whispered promises. Along with that comes nerves that they won’t like the photos, not capturing a specific shot, and endless hours of tears when it comes to editing

Every wedding is a unique story waiting to be told, and I am filled with a sense of honor at the thought of being the one to preserve these precious moments. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about immortalizing memories that will be cherished for generations.

As I ponder this path, I think about the trust couples place in their photographer to document one of the most important days of their lives. Whether it’s a grand, extravagant celebration or a small, intimate gathering, each wedding holds its own magic. While the big weddings dazzle with their grandeur, there’s something incredibly special about the intentionality and intimacy of smaller weddings.

It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I am excited, a little nervous, but mostly grateful for the opportunity to witness and capture love in its many beautiful forms.

For now I will continue to ponder on future weddings & try to figure out a way I can enjoy it and not dread it at the same time!
