I will die on this hill: photos in the snow are the best! Especially when the weather is as nice as it's been all week. However, these images were taken the day after a blizzard...in March...and it was SO chilly! But you can't tell me they weren't worth it!

And we recreated some images from this client's first summer maternity session-right down to her stilettos. I'm so glad she committed to the recreations because the final images were *chef's kiss*

I am so excited to share the engagement session that I did for my brother-in-law and future sister-in-law! These two are so photogenic!!!! And engagement photos are some of my absolute favourite to photograph.

We did these at my parents' farm (which is where I seem to shoot the majority of my winter sessions). The evergreens always look so pretty against the snow and because of the trees, there is great wind cover which really helps keep the chill away during the cooler months.

Could you envision a shoot here??

There is something utterly perfect about photos in the snow.

I know, I know-we live somewhere where it is unbearably cold. Trust me, I get it.

But if you can brave the elements (I usually only do 30 minute sessions maximum in the winter months), we can create some absolutely stunning images!!

And a pro tip: a stylish blanket makes a great photo accessory!

Some of my favourite Autumn images are taken after the leaves have already all fallen. There is a calming neutrality to images where there isn't a busy background competing with the subjects in the photos. I hear people lament every year that they missed the peak season, but I can assure you-you didn't!

I never want any client to press pause on doing a session because they feel like life was just too busy and they missed their shot so they have to wait until next year.
We can create magic all year round; I promise!

We had such a good time during her family session, that my client from my previous post booked a mini headshot session with me afterwards.

I love collaborating with people in their personal space to capture images that really highlight their personality and what they do within their business. The pale pink walls in her studio were so calming, and she had some of the coolest artwork on the walls!

Sometimes kids just wanna be kids! And in those instances-I let them and just capture them doing their thing.

Now don't get me wrong, some children love the camera and enjoy goofing around and posing during their sessions; and obviously, I love that! But families always ask me...what do we do if that isn't the case? What if their child is shy? Or just having an off day? Do we reschedule? Try again?

In specific cases, I've offered a reshoot if a child or multiple children were having a truly bad day and I could tell that the parents were feeling discouraged, but no one has ever taken me up on it because we've always been able to get some incredible images anyway!

The sibling photos and children's portraits are often my favourite images taken during family sessions. Even though I always ensure I capture a mix of group photos, sibling images, portraits, and parent images. And since you choose the images you'd like to purchase from a proofs gallery after the session, all of the variety gives you SO many different options to select from!
