I’m Katja, a commercial, equine, and editorial photographer. In my early 20s I took over the care of my father’s 1960s Miranda film camera and learned to see people with a more curious eye, to notice light and shadows, and to stop for sunsets, sunrises, and everything in between. While I started with snowcapped, Scottish mountains and snapshots of university life, I was quickly drawn to natural li

ght photography and visual storytelling. My goal is to capture your story, with all of its unique curves and twists, to show the world the spark and passion I see through my lens. The resulting picture tells a story you love, while provoking a feeling. When I’m not working on commercial projects, I take equine and outdoor adventure photos. And yes
I still love to shoot real-life, family moments session. My commercial clients range from local, family-run businesses to national and multinational brands - Vehicle Dynamics Group, Subaru Canada, Woodbine Entertainment Group, Tapestry Equine Products, Sharpie, OshKosh B’Gosh, Martin’s Sweet Farm, are a few I’ve loved working with. Snapshots from a recent shoot day with Letter Perfect Embroidery . We wanted to showcase the variety of setups and gear options available, whether it’s for a one-woman rider/stall set-up all the way to kitting out a 30+ riders show team. Pictured is a small selection of the curtains, stall guards, scrims, saddle pads, trunk covers, boot bags, and more, I found around the show grounds.

Huge thanks to the teams competing at Silver II who welcomed and accommodated the photos! Many more than I have here, but it’s very appreciated.

Currently really missing the og insta days of posting snapshots of life without curating anything or turning every hobby into a side hustle (fyi I hate hustling, I’m more of une flñneuse). And while photography is my business, it’s also something I’ve loved for a very long time and one of the ways I put creativity into the world. Basically, not everything on this feed should just be the biz side of it and maybe this space will shift again.

Guys. The momma skunk who had her babies under my neighbour’s deck is not parenting and apparently I’m now the daytime babysitter.

FYI, no skunk babies were scared or harmed during these pics or at any time even though I was outside all day gardening and Ukee was super offended he had to share his garden.

‱ Edit my private client’s (that would be Dougie 😏) pics and videos.
‱ Sort and begin editing my brand client pics and videos.
‱ Schedule private horse + rider sessions.
‱ Walk my dog.
