Every branding has its big moments.

But those aren’t always the ones I remember.

It’s the smoke drifting through the air. Horses standing quietly between runs. Conversations that don’t need many words.

Somewhere along the way, those became the moments I started chasing.

I’ve spent this branding season shooting differently.

Less about the event.
More about the people who keep it alive.

This is where The Keepers Collection begins.

Stay close.

Branding season looked a little different through my lens this year.

Less about documenting every moment.
More about finding the ones you could almost feel.

Chasing light.
Texture.
Atmosphere.
The quiet details that tell the story long after the dust settles.

This is the direction Rustic Compass is heading—and I couldn’t be more excited.

If you’re here for western stories told a little differently, welcome.

Last week was a blur.

Between brandings, editing, painting, and chasing the next story, social media took a back seat. But sometimes that’s exactly where it belongs.

I’ve been filling memory cards with moments like this, and I can’t wait to start sharing them. There are some of my favourite images I’ve made in a long time still waiting to be seen.

Stay tuned. There’s a lot more coming.

I’ve spent years chasing storms.

Lately, I’ve been chasing moments like this.

The kind that remind you peace isn’t something you find.
It’s something you notice.

I’ve been quiet for a while.

Not because I stopped creating, but because I was chasing something I couldn’t quite find.

Today I slowed down, stopped forcing it, and let myself create for the sake of creating.

And I think I finally found it.

Not a style.
Not a preset.
A feeling.

The kind that makes you want to stay in the moment just a little longer.

So grateful to have beautiful friends who let me capture their true beauty Christina Romo

Some of the best boys have four legs.

They carry our weight.
They listen without speaking.
And somehow, they always know when we need them most.

Some people run from storms.

I’ve spent most of my life driving toward them.

There’s something about watching a prairie sky build—dark clouds rolling over grain elevators, the wind changing direction, the feeling that something powerful is coming. It’s wild, unpredictable, and beautiful all at once.

Maybe that’s why I keep photographing them.

The prairie has a way of reminding you just how small you are, and somehow, that’s exactly what makes it feel like home.

A lot of the photographs I share wouldn’t exist without the people who trust me enough to let me into their world.

Ryan of has been one of those people.

He’s opened the gates, trusted me around his horses and family, and given me the freedom to tell stories through my lens. Many of my favourite images have happened because someone was willing to say, “Come on out.”

Life has thrown a few extra challenges his way lately, so I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for supporting my work, even when I was still figuring out where it was going.

The Western community is built on good people helping good people, and Ryan is one of the good ones.

Give him a little extra appreciation today. 🤍

Don’t look back.

Unless there’s an old International sitting in the mirror and the prairie light is just right.

Then by all means, tell to move his arm, slow down and take the photo.
