Tonight, at the .cna I was reminded of my love of theatre. In fact, the very first musical I ever saw was Les Miserables, at the National Arts Centre, when I was 9. It stuck with me. Now, so many years later, I saw a production that was virtually flawless. The voices were ALL good, the staging was incredible, every scene looked like a painting stolen from the Louvre. From the second the first notes of the overture began, I was already moved to tears, to the very last notes that drew me away from the medical emergency happening a dozen rows behind me, when someone yelled call an ambulance.
I was in awe. I was constantly reminding myself to breathe…
I have NEVER heard a thunderous applause like that before.
To the touring company, thank you for the absolutely beautiful show.
Thankfully the man with the medical emergency was sitting upright and conscious but didn’t look too coherent. The ushers and those around him handled it well.
So grateful to have been in the audience for that.
Thanks mama.
