Founded by a visionary that is driven by music and art in its various forms, the company’s inception took place within the artistic hub of Sydney Australia. 5KCo has fused together elements from the North and South, bringing East Vancouver culture to meet with Australian energy and design. The result of this fusion of elements is a fresh take on urban street fashion line. The creators of 5KCo saw
the need for more support for struggling artists. Both Canadian touring drummers that found themselves in the heart of Australia, they became hungry to help artists, and desired more than a life of performance. Through their touring experience they discovered a void in today’s culture that outlined a need for a new combination of mediums to be fused together to create opportunity for artists. The goal became finding a way to bridge the gap between music and fashion; two staples in our society that go hand in hand but have yet to be combined in this way. The realisation of this gap resulted in combining components of the music and fashion they love, to create that “something new.” The creation of the brand will foster networking for artists and provide a platform for advancement in their careers through cross-promotion. Both creators have cultivated a healthy passion for music, art, fashion and design and they have allowed these elements to inspire the creation as well as the progression of the brand. Established with artists in mind, 5KCo remains true to their “By Artists For Artists” slogan that is integral to the brand. 5KCo puts both the customer and artist as top priority.
