A little advice for anyone currently shopping for a wedding photographer as the news of a local wedding photographer is ghosting her client —>
When you’re investing in your wedding, you’re not just paying for photos. You’re paying for communication, professionalism, reliability, experience, and peace of mind.
A photographer’s job doesn’t start when they pick up a camera on your wedding day. It starts the moment you inquire.
If a photographer is difficult to reach before your wedding, takes weeks or months to respond, leaves you wondering whether they’re still in business, or makes you chase them for basic information, that’s a red flag. Communication matters.
I know price is often a major factor when planning a wedding. Weddings are expensive, and everyone has a budget. But choosing a photographer based solely on who is the cheapest can sometimes come with risks that aren’t obvious when you’re booking.
Before handing over a deposit, ask questions.
✔️ Read reviews.
✔️ Look at how they communicate online.
✔️ Ask past clients about their experience.
✔️ Make sure they have a contract.
✔️ Make sure they are responsive before booking.
A great photographer should leave you feeling excited and confident—not anxious and wondering if they’ll answer your next email.
Unfortunately, when a few photographers fail to communicate or follow through on their commitments, it reflects poorly on an industry filled with professionals who work incredibly hard to serve their clients well.
Your wedding day happens once. Choose someone you trust not only to create beautiful images, but to show up, communicate, and be a professional from start to finish.
Because sometimes the most important thing you’re paying for isn’t the camera—it’s the person behind
**note: I myself may not be able to answer right away— but I do certainly try during business hours and not when the plague hits my household 😭
