Watching the NHL (and other sports) are an opportunity to learn from and admire great marketing 🤩

As a marketer myself, I am constantly admiring the strategies and creativity that go into today’s advertisements.

As I watch the NHL playoffs, I can’t help but notice to ads that really stood out to me for their creativity and strategy. Budweiser 🍺 and old spice🧴had ads that I thought took advantage of both traditional marketing, psychology, and creativity.

You shouldn’t copy these directly, but you can use the principles behind them to fuel your own marketing and growth.

Fun fact, board advertisements in the NHL are digitally shown to you and maybe different than what is displayed in real life. This use of location targeting ensures the ads being shown are relevant to the people seeing them! 📺

International Women’s Day is a reminder of the women who helped get me where I am. The ones who have pushed through things we don't always see or talk about.

Last year I had the privilege of doing a research project on self-image and women in business. A lot of my findings connect directly to why this day exists. Not because women want a day to complain or compete with men, but because the reality is that many of the opportunities we have today came from women pushing through barriers that existed not long ago.

Women couldn’t have a credit card in their own name until 1974 (just a sample). That kind of history shapes how people see themselves, how confident they feel stepping into leadership, and how society responds to them.

So to me, International Women’s Day isn’t about division. It’s about recognizing the progress that’s been made, the women who made it possible, and continuing to build a world where the next generation doesn’t have to question whether they belong at the table.

Family, friends, or professional connections, everyone has an influential woman in their life (or many).

Not only do I have family and friends who support me like there is no tomorrow, but a network of incredible women (now friends) who have pushed me to where I am, not everyone is pictured here, but it's a small way of showing my gratitude, thank you. I would be a lot further back on the path if you didn't exist 💛
