When winter drags on, I revisit moments like this…Megan and Curtis’ wedding in Mexico filled with golden light, ocean air, and the kind of love that stays warm long after the sun sets.

These two really knew how to do it up! From heartfelt notes to each of their guests (including myself and my husband), the surprise mariachi band, a beautiful ball room dance performance by the bride herself - it was one of those days that we won’t ever forget.

I felt honoured to have joined this amazing group of people for an entire week and to have captured the best day ever for M&C🌴💛.

Last week, I celebrated my birthday 🎂.

Looking back, this past year had been a good one. I have been trying to be a little more intentional with my time and my goal moving forward was to slow down, spend more time with those I love the most and just do the things I truly enjoy whether big or small like gardening and perhaps even travelling.
I can’t say that I’ve perfected it all yet but I will say that I’m getting better and that it’s been really nice. I’ve made more time for friends and even rekindled old friendships, I stepped away from work to be present with my kids without feeling the need to open up the laptop or checking my socials. And I actually said ‘no’ (politely) to some jobs and things that I felt might overwhelm me (which is a big one because I’m a huge people pleaser) or take me away from that good place that I’m in.

One thing I enjoyed and didn’t post about yet was my trip to Ireland with my husband in May. We hiked, we ate well and we immersed ourselves in the beauty that the island had to offer. It was magical ✨ Here’s a few snaps that I took while there (some from my phone and others on my 📷). Enjoy and thank you all for the lovely messages and birthday wishes ❤️

With all the family and newborn sessions I’ve had lately, it got me thinking about how I should take a moment to thank all of you who continue to support me and who have been with me along the way. Despite price increases, despite some type of weather event (🥵), despite having to stay up past bedtimes in order to get that perfect sunset…
It’s truly such a blessing to be invited into your homes and lives to capture sweet, quiet moments between you and your fresh new family member. Then to see them grow and run around fields and beaches because you have once again chosen me to be your memory keeper.
Many of you I’ve been with since the beginning and I’m extremely grateful ❤️ so thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I feel like I always start my posts with ‘I’m still alive!’ But the truth is, I’m just not cut out for social media 👵.
Rest assured I am still here and working away like normal. I did, however, take much less on this season and although it was extraordinarily scary at first, it has been really nice. At first I wondered and worried about whether I’d be ‘ok’ financially or if people would forget about me. But truth be told, it really opened my eyes to what matters (atleast to me) and it’s certainly not money or recognition.
I struggled greatly in the past with balance but I think I’m figuring it out. It’s 100% doable! Who knew?!

I’ll try not to take 4 months til my next post because I do have sooo many great shoots and weddings to share 🙈

People ask me all the time if I have a favourite wedding and I can’t say I have a specific one but I do end up really enjoying the intimate, real emotional affairs with like minded people. Those who emit light and genuine over the top joy kinda people. The ones who are ‘there for a good time’ and who just really want to celebrate their love with their favourite people kinda people. The not afraid to go on an adventure and maybe get a little dirty in the process kinda people.

I’ve had weddings where I felt like I was a guest, or a long time friend and sat next to a family member who also made me feel like part of the ‘gang’.
And other ones where I was a shoulder to cry on for the bride who missed her late grandma or a pal to the groom when he got extra nervous before walking down the aisle.

Those are the ones that stick out to me. Those are my favourite weddings and the ones I’ll remember forever 🤍
