Who says wedding photography has to be all serious faces and perfect poses? Sometimes, the best shots are the goofy, silly ones that show the real personalities behind the smiles. These moments remind me why I love capturing love—fun, spontaneous, and totally authentic.

Reflecting on one of the most meaningful moments in my journey as a photographer—getting to photograph my best friend Sarah’s wedding. Knowing her as long as I have, capturing her big day felt like more than just a photoshoot; it was witnessing a lifelong friendship bloom into a beautiful new chapter.

Being so close to her, I knew her smile, her glances, and the quiet moments that told so much about her happiness. It made directing her and her partner even more natural because I understand her spirit and personality. Those little nuances made the photos feel authentic and full of emotion. It’s a gift to be trusted with such an important moment, especially by someone who means so much to me.

Transitioning these skills to client sessions can sometimes be a challenge—trying to balance professionalism with that personal touch. But every successful shoot, especially one for a dear friend, reminds me why I love what I do. It’s about capturing genuine emotion, creating memories, and being part of something truly special.
